Well well the Wilson out merchants have their way. I suspect this is to do with Pools having zero money for January and Wilson wanting to shore up the team for safety with Browny out.

The alternative argument is fans always criticise IOR for a dithering Grandma act - well 6 league games without a win, but sandwicjed between a FA Cup 3rd Round place does not justify a sacking, but IOR may have asked for Wilson's performance management review and concluded we were below par! Honestly, injurries to Brown & Boland have cost us dear.

With everyone fit Danny appeared tio be getting Boland in particular to roll back the years.

Like Turner Danny was tactically limited, but I supported Danny for trying a 'ball to feet' approach. I know Tubby will motivate and away from home play 2 banks of 4 in front of each other in our own half and he will get the job until the end of the season as an economy measure. If he does the best bit of economy he can make is to get shot of Butterworth & give Micky Barron or even R. Humphries esq. a bigger coaching role. Now we will see if the bus drive's itself or does Gordon Watson rejoin Tubby in a double act! I honestly cannot see the point in looking outside for the rest of the season. However, the history books are littered with people who did well first time around coming back as a relative failure - see Tait, Houchen, Newton, Baker and Joe Joe Allon for further details.

If we have no money for players the last thing we do is waste it on managers as I can think of no one available we would want! Although Billy Horner was the usual answer when we are skint!

Good Post. I wasn't a massive fan of turner but I think he'll be here to steady the ship and come the end of the season who knows.

I said I wasn't a MASSIVE fan! Remember turner was probably given more money than any other manager previously in Hartlepool Uniteds history.
I always thought tuner bottled it come the crunch, i.e. plays offs. I also cant ever remember a decent cup run under turner.
However, he did transform the team when he came in ultimately saving us from going down when all looked lost.

His record when he left the club says he struggled,

146 games as a manager 36 wins 46 draws and 64 defeats, a 24.65% win ratio. The fact he been out of management since boxing day 2005 almost 4 years.

Yes he did well when here between 1999-2002, but if we appointed anyone else with that type of record, can you honestly say you would be pleased.

slightly harsh as he did take over the wendies as they were imploding, however he didn't pull up any trees at stockport. It says temporarily on the website, so i think we should be looking at who will take over permanently

I liked Mick Tait. (I have to say that in case he's reading and knows where I live)
