i read this on another Pools message board, it was written by your good self....

"I've been thinking about this as well.....when you can talk about Pools 24/7 then it has to affect the anticipation and build up to a match on a Saturday. We all get irate for an hour after the match after a poor display - or otherwise proclaim our new status to anyone who'll listen, as the next all powerful world beaters after a good win.
No two people see football the same - and that includes managers. Different people have different philosophies. John Beck got panned by his own supporters as a manager wherever he went (Lincoln and Cambridge are the best two examples) - but he got Cambridge two promotions, got them to the play offs for the Premier League and into the quarter finals of the Cup. He got Lincoln promoted and was promptly sacked early the following season!!!
He is the brains behind Histon right now - his philosophy of playing is suited to players with limited ability, i.e. most of the players at our club, so a bloke like him is ideal for a club like Pools if you want purely results. Others would rather we got beat and played nice football!!!! Mad but the truth.
There are those who like Wilson's approach with regard to trying to play decent football, but doesn't always get the results - and they would be willing to wait a long time for it to happen - and there are those that dislike it because winning at all costs is what's important, and they want the results right now.
This is all reflected on these boards, the reactionaries and the reserved alike are all at each other's throats when it's not going well - like it is at the moment. I certainly don't remember a time being so disaffected by football (that is largely to do with the ridiculous money footballers get paid) but I also think these boards play a part"

best single post i have ever read clappp clappp clappp

Headlander is harmless, I take everything he says as a wind up and it works in a strange way.

You wouldn't be saying that if you were his underpants.

He isn't harmless, players read the message boards I'm sure they don't find his venomous tirades against the club he allegedly supports harmless anyway. I don't get the joke or wind up it's just counter productive.

He goes on like a wind up Loid masquerading as a Poolie, I don't get it stpid sctatchinghead

Headlander was a man who caused a stir on these messageboards circa 04/05 (maybe even before).

Didn't realise he still posted anywhere...

I used to have a lot of run ins with Headlander on the message boards back on HUFC2003, he is a wind up merchant, the pre-season before we got to the playoff final he wanted 10 of the squad dumping as they were 'rubbish' and 'deadwood'......says it every single season. If you take him with a pinch of salt then he is unbearable, if you take him serious then you will have a breakdown....

E.A.D im very surprised at your reluctance to join another board because of one person. Especially a sensible diplomatic person like you should be able to have a gadgie of Headlander in your back pocket. TBQH he does go on a bit but its all for a bite in all honesty, ive done work for the bloke and he seems sound as a pound like.
