I was thinking about that and talked myself out of a similar thread.
He's only started 3 games for Rotherham and been subbed in all of them. He's been a sub in 9 games. He's scored just the one goal. Seems a bit strange that Rotherham are so keen to keep him really. In their last 6 games he's started 1 and been subbed, been a sub 3 times unused sub once and not in the squad once.
I suppose if KK had been injured or had gone back there may have been an argument to get him back as he still must be contracted to Pool's, but he's made it clear he will stay at Rotherham.
I reckon it's time to give one or two of the youngsters their chance.

Barker, like Mckay, Foley, and Humphreys, is not good enough for this league.

He did not play well, its only the fact the for once he didn't stand out as playing badly that you say he played well, and that is down to the fact that he wasn't getting skinned left, right and center at left-back. He was anonymous at left and center midfield yesterday.

it must be a minority now who can't see Humphreys is not the player he was five years ago. He is finished at this level, some people need to let go. It was a sad sight to watch a great player like Tinkler struggle in his last season here - but Pools released him before it would have got embarrassing. It looks like they need to do that with Humphreys at the end of the season.

As much as i agree with you, we need a decent left-back in first.... and will that happen?

Stop arguing girls and put your hand bags down!! - to get back to the ORIGINAL POINT - Barker - how binding would a deal be made before the transfer window opens in January?

As for him not being good enough - he is certainly better than Kyle - and if porter is also out for some time - we need someone in asap. Barker is ours till end of month - even if not after.

Barker isn't better than Kyle though. He's too immobile for this level bloody hell a clear indication is that he's on the way down is that he can't even get a game in a shite Rotherham team.

It's YOU who doesn't get it Mr Obafemi.

Barker is OURS until the end of December but he is on loan to Rotherham at present, we CAN recall him after 28 days from the start of the loan, so if we want to we CAN recall him, depends whether Wilson wants him though

It's quite clearly a done deal, Barker said as much on the day he signed.

We'd have recalled him when Brown got injured if that was the case.

Porter is injured now and we still haven't done it so it clearly isn't the case is it Mr Stubborn!?

Barker is not coming back!

Or Maybe Mr H said no as we are using Barkers Wages on Kyle! So while technically being able to, the powers that be are not allowing it?

i refuse to backtrack and admit i was wrong, so i would give up trying now

In Barkers case, ..... 'you can lead a horse to water'... I don't think he'd want to be here, end of.

we should be looking at getting 20 minutes out of the likes of tymon and rowell at the moment rather than hauling someone who doesnt want to play for us back from yorkshire.

barker and kyle up font doesnt bear thinking about.

Precisely. I'm sure we'd all be for giving these kids a chance. FFS Tymon scored nearly 40 goals at reserve and youth level last season yet even when we had nothing to play for at the end of the season he didn't get a sniff banghead

These kids clearly have ability, the likes of Mackay and Foley have had plenty of chances to prove they are good enough and have failed. FFS Wilson give them a chance they are the future of a club of our size!

Chip, energy and enthusiasm will be missing as long as there is no competition for places, i find it hard to believe how many kids have been released in the last 2 years without being given a chance too, then you see the likes of foley coming on every week and it takes the wind out of your sails. I felt like leaving as soon as he came on yesterday as i knew weren't going to improve on the previous hours play.
