All accounts to stay on the pitch late on. A blatant elbow on one of the Fleetwood players. Have to admit it I didn't see it properly through the fog with it being at the other end of the pitch.

I'm sure ITV with their highlights will make sure everyone sees it , if it was.

I was told he just pushed him away but we will see.

I remember Southend after Collins red card, a Southend fan told me that Collins voilently attacked their player, first punching him in the back and then elbowing him and that he should be banged up. Then I saw the replay....

He was jumping to collect a cross, he dropped it (of course) but it looked like a clear foul then I lost what happened in the fog. Given his performance had I saw an elbow I'd have been chanting "off" with the Fleetwood fans.

Arsene Wenger would have been in his element today as I quite genuinely "Didn't see it".

Our defence has been described as sloppy.

We've scraped through against a none league side and made to look like tits.

And our keeper has made us look like thugs (not saying ALB is a thug as I'll say it was a moment of madness).

All in a days work.

At least we're through.

Lucky?

He got an elbow right in the fooking kipper and responded like any other person who'd been elbowed right in the fooking kipper. He should have stretched that other rarf who came running in as well

At least he showed a bit of bite, which has been sadly lacking in the rest of the team and management.

That was the most blatant red card you will ever see.

It's wouldn't have made a difference as it was in the second minute of injury time but ALB without doubt should have walked.

So lets hope all our players show some "bite" and get sent off?

probably the most blatantly obvious red card you are ever likely to see.

I didn't say he didn't deserve to get sent off. I said he was obviously retaliating like any normal person would to a bad foul. Did the Fleetwood player get ticked off for a ropey leading elbow?

And what's all this daft crack " stpid stpid stpid stpid stpid " sctatchinghead

He was definitely lucky. Just got in and watched the highlights, seems like he lost it for a few seconds. Got a bit of a break there as he could easily have been sent off.

Could the FA still impose a ban, when they see the footage? He definitely would have gone if the Ref had a better view.

No because he got booked for it, that's how stupid the the laws are. Sam Collins V Mk Dons- straight red no point of appealing as the Ref and his team of cronies stand by one of the worst decisions I have ever seen, yet today that can't be taken further because the ref has deemed that it was a yellow card at the time (he could only have seen the second push to the face).

Stupidity!!

I agree ,or thought I did, if the referee's report says he was booked for the 2nd offence (push in the face of the 2nd player) and he missed the actual thrown elbow (in retaliation) on the player who led with the elbow, then knowing the way the FA/referee's act then they may say "it's only little Hartlepool" we will do something as the actual first offence was missed.

I know they wont (hopefully) just pointing out that the FA could well go against what is usually the norm.

I'm with £3 on this...

Yes I know ALB is crap, DW is a bounder, and Gordon Brown has a glass eye, but the know it all 'may have played at a decent level' would of reacted in exactly the same with if a big spud like the Fleetwood forward had led with the elbow, he made no attempt to play the ball

Completely hypothetical, but if it was Dimi, I very much doubt the reaction on the board would be like this

If it were Dimi, no centre forward would dare lead with the elbow.
