Reading Chris Turners comments in todays Northern Echo he suggests that discussions had taken place with Danny regarding the January transfer window and then goes on to say that football is going to get hit hard, finances are tough and he doesn't expect much happening in January.

I know its theory number 100 but given Danny's previous hardly veiled moans about lack of funds, I wonder if he was insisting upon financial backing and was told nothing is available so they decided to part ways.

I'm sure we all would like to see big money signings etc but given current gates, recession etc I believe IOR as always are taking the sensible apporach.

I think there is a fair chance he was just sick of being Pools Manager and Pools were also sick of him. So, complaining about a lack of funds may well have been a way to force the clubs hand and get them to pay him off. If this is the case then good riddance...

... maybe it had dawned on both parties that they had different expectations of each other.
