Improved a hell of a lot - 4, 021 is a creditable attendance for a change after 2,000+

2,000+, what the fook are you on?, it's been years since we had anything like a 2,000 crowd for a home league game, I do hope you mixed your 2 up with a 3 or you just need to be muzzled.

A very creditable 3.5k but almost 500 from Lincoln, so just the norm for the Loids.

Honestly, you couldn't make it up......

That said, I do find myself agreeing with my old sparring partner Quakerz about our respective town's populace and what exactly they require to attend our team's matches. Our crowd of 4000-odd was well down on what we should expect for edge-of-the-playoff League One football.

I'm glad I never heard that article.

Fact is both Hartlepool and Darlington have lost roughly 1,000 fans in the last 2 seasons.

Its now getting to the point where 4,000 is a great crowd.

Only two years ago we were complaining that we "only" averaged.....fooking averaged!... 4,200 and Poolies were saying "on the edge of the play offs and thats all you get? We were getting 5,000 when we went up!", and we were saying "but we would get 5,000 if we went up too!".

Not now.

The bubble has burst, and sooner or later a lot of clubs will too.

I'm already geared up for Vaux Wearside football.

According to MadJohn's site:

League Cup Vs Scunthorpe in August - 2,076
PaintPotTrophy Vs. Leicester in September (two months ago) - 2,807

So it has reached dangerous levels before.

Yes, I know it's not the League but 2,000+ attendances are awful for the Club anyway.

1.2 people, I remember when we could only dream of having such a heaving throng. 0.5 of a person, yes half a person and that were against Manchester United in the FA cup quarter finals and we had to watch 'boro v mags as pre match entertainment. Don't talk to me about dwindling crowds.

Half a person? Luxury. I remember when he was banned for pissing in his own pocket and we were left with a minus half a person crowd for the rest of the season, so don't talk to me about having the luxury of half a person in the ground.
