if its a couple of days past the 'use by' date and you cook it and eat it, will it kill you?
or poison you?

Dead right, if it looks alright and smells okay and you know were it's been kept i.e. in a fridge get it down your kneck.

I would think if you ate rabid dog poo, that the toxins you take voluntarily would snuff out anything orible in anything you eat.
