Collins first foul-yellow card,
Collins second foul-sorry but if he has made contact then its a sending off. No striker in his right mind wouldnt go down and looked inside the box to me.

What he did get wrong was the foul against Clark that led to first goal, their lad elbowed Clark.

Not a great ref but Iv seen a lot, lot worse.

Why? First tackle was wrecklass and late and second one IF he has made contact (iv no idea if he has) then then guy is through on goal and it s agoalscoring chance so he will be sent off. What is wrong about that?

first collins yellow i thought he got the ball, second foul looked nothing like a booking, it didnt even look like a foul. what boils my piss is that their centre half spends the entire game fouling kyle, and after the third or fourth foul he commits/free kick he gives away, the ref takes him to one side and gives him a talking to but no card.

as for the free kick tree is on about, clark was the one that was fouled. shocking decision.

he got just about everything wrong and missed countless fouls.

completely inept imho.

only consolation is that collins will be suspended.

Yes it looked nothing like abooking but im sure you above anyone else knows if you make contact when a guy is through on goal then your going to get sent off? Had perfect view of first card and he got nowhere near the ball.

from my view in the town end it didn't look like a foul never mind straight red!!

also agree about the free kick for the 1st goal, I was agog that he gave THEM the free kick in the 1st place...shocking stuff

thought he was going to send Clarky off for the Maradona goal, he definately shit out of that decision!

His first booking was a definiate booking. It was a wreckless and stupid challenge.

What annoys people the most about referees is inconsistency. The referee today was totally inconsistent from start to finish. The sending off was harsh to say the least and as people have already said the foul for their second goal should have been awarded to Pools and not MK Dons. He dished out the bookings to Pools far more freely than he did to the opposition. Very poor, ref...

IF it was a foul is was an honest tackle and maybe mistimed by a fraction of a second. Fool.

First Collins yellow, he got the ball but also got the man. A foul but nothing more than that.

Collins' straight red, minimal (if any) contact, you get minimal contact as it's just natural and very, very, rarely is it given a foul never mind a straight red.

A bonkers decision and I hope the referee sends Hartlepool a written apology to the club and us fans as he really did ruin the game. It's difficult being a referee but he got too many of his decisions wrong. Giving MK Dons a freekick when they elbowed us was bonkers.

I don't like calling referees biased, but the majority of his decisions especially his poor ones were against us. He was a joke, a total joke.

In fact I want the FA to overturn the red card, if the FA do not overturn the red card then they never will.

Honestly from the view I had it looked a clear cut bad challenge. It looked late, he did not appear to get anywhere near the ball and there was no need to dive in as it was in the middle of nowhere. The folk around me did not moan at the booking either at the time.

From what I have heard since the game a few people disagree. I will wait to see the highlights.

The second 'foul' was not even a bookable offence

From where I was stood the first card looked like he took the ball with a good old fashioned challenge, the second one looked like their forward handled the ball, if there was contact it must have been minimal as there didn't look to be much if indeed any

If Pools appeal no doubt the FA will see it as frivilous seeing as it is Collins and extend the ban.

Won't it only be a one match ban with it not being dangerous tackle

That decision was even more laughable than the red card, we were going mad shouting 'off' when he gave the free kick after seeing the elbow then he gave the free kick the other way!!!!!!!

I just genuinely burst out laughing at him, that led to the first goal as well....

I was also shouting off and the guy next to me turned away and said I don't believe this.

Not because he'd given MK a freekick but because the referee had no called the MK Dons player over. I then decided to inform him that the freekick had been given the other way.

Disbelief.

I must agree, there seemed something suspicious afoot yesterday. I have never, in almost 40 years of watching football, thought about any cheating going on but I had my doubts yesterday. He made too many mistakes for it to be plain incompetency...

Is information on betting trends during certain games freely available?

I also think something was seriously suspicious (and I've tried to be more understand of referees during the last year).

really don't believe there is a consipiracy theory - there are just some rubbish and inexperienced refs around and it's a case of some games you win some you lose depending on the ref and linesmen on the day
On another day all the decisions could have gone your way

I really think all supporters need to get a petiton sorted and signed so that this problem can be sorted out - you were unluckly yesterday but we've also been on the receiving end of dreadful decisions
the officials need challenging and soon as the cost to clubs is enourmous

If there is evidence of bungs it needs sorting now

good luck for the rest of the season

without seeing a replay i thought collins made a lunge in the second tackleand there was minimal contact, but enough for this ref
it was on the edge of the box and the guy would have been clear maybe the decision was made that he stopped a possible goal chance
he is not the most agile of defenders and gets turned very easily and looks clumsy when he is

I suggest you see the replay, most likely on Virgin Media if it's on.

Whats the deal with libel on this site? Friend of mine from pools who refs in the football league spoke to the assessor after the game, after defending the ref it has to be said when we spoke to him.

Lovely response, bravo old chap!

A mate of mine from pools, who iam sure a few people know on here aswell, now refs in the football league. He spoke with the assessor after the game, who was Alan Wiley, who advised he didnt think it was a sending off. Whats hard to get from that?

Can you appeal against a double yellow?

I thought it was just straight reds?

Cant appeal two yellows, but ref can over turn his decsion. I didnt see him show a second yellow though, iam sure it was a straight red, if hes gone by the letter of the law as collins was last man.

A red card is the heaviest punishment the referee can give to a player. The offender must leave the field at once, and he may well be banned for at least one further match. Once he is gone, he cannot be replaced by a substitute; his team must continue with one less man. .

Because they are so powerful, red cards are reserved for very bad behaviour such as violence, abuse or deliberate cheating. A red card can stain an entire team’s performance in a tournament, taking their players out of crucial games and sapping the morale of the squad

Hands up anyone who thought the elbow to Ben Clarke was not as serious as the run of the mill tackle Collins made.[

Mouth shut now incase of any further abuse, but what is the rules on 'libel' on the forum? I do use that term lightly as i wasnt really dropping anyone in trouble. Just on some forums use of names to incidents is frowned upon.

Updated to say have just seen the rules thread, will have a look through.

If someone calls you an abusive name you have the right to be offended. Abusers should know better.

So don't hesitate to "drop them in".

P.S. since there is sometimes confusion, this is a moderator speaking.

I wouldnt really say mine was abuse, more a sarcastic reply. I dont really care what OO said, ill just bare the abuse thing in mind for the future. OO the point i was making about libel (and from what i can judge from the responses is its not really a issue on this site) is that on other forums i use you can be banned for any form of it. I was merely asking before i used names to back my orginal point up. I have since told you who the assessor at the game was and what was said.

Very few from me. If I do its on the back of a point regarding Pools. At leats im contributing to the thread or points raised or giving an opinion regarding Pools. Where as OO just posts abuse and adds nothing whatsoever to the board.
