banghead

I still love the fact Leeds fans believe the world is against them, yet they're on the box more than most Premiership clubs!

At least them against Histon is understandable, that was always bound to be on the telly. Leeds V Northampton was a laughable choice of match.

Oh and.. come on you Cobblers in the replay, TV would be gutted if they went through!!

Don't Northampton already have a history this season of dumping a smarmy club out of a cup?

now then...for the can of worms which gets opened in dark cupboards at tv studios everywhere. Let's assume the tv companies look at all the possibilities to get the biggest ratings, hence the desire to show Leeds. Now it would be a financial advantage for them to have Leeds get to round three and play one of their old adversaries from the premier league and put that on tv too.
The ref and the linesmen might have it made known to them by third parties, that they themselves might benefit in future from a Leeds victory, ooh let's say they get to ref a big televised game, or might tell the top bods at the premier league that there's a good ref waiting to get on the ladder .

Now look at the sending off of Giles Coke after 26 minutes and that disgusting spot kick awarded to Leeds and tell me something isn't going on.

Your not wrong there, never a second yellow offence at all, never a penalty.

If that ref couldnt have given a penalty then he would have played 20 minutes of injury time until they did I'm certain.

To be fair, what has this got to do with the Leeds fans? I thought this was about the media love in.

Leeds United fans make Sheffield Wed fans seem modest and the love-in I was referring to was on this very board, last season

You mean the welcome we gave to the visiting Leeds FANS?

The same welcome we gave to the Walsall fans?

And any other set of fans that have visited?

It was arse licking toadyness of the highest order 'ooooh you were great in the 70's, oooh Johnny Giles' and so and so forth. They were taking the piss and thought this would be a fleeting visit. They are another team who thinks the football world owes them a favour and 99% of their fans are obnoxious cry babies who deserve everything they get
This of course is just my opinion and it may differ from other peoples

Errr no. It was called being friendly.

And a few of the Leeds fans are fine. Whitelight for example.

I suspect you are slightly bitter for some reason. sctatchinghead

Not in the slightest

You know the way you feel about Newcastle fans because you work amongst them?

Try working in Leeds for two years and having to hear them bang their gums day in, day out about just how great they are......

Absolutely disgusting. I thought TV Channels were supposed to pick different games and sides to show. Alright, this is ITV, not SETANTA, but Leeds again, come on.

ITV are only following SETANTA because Leeds bring the most attention and they want to make sure that if anything happens, the media won't miss it.

Come on ITV, see some sense.

I can't believe they've even nominated them on the chance they'll get through before the replay. As was said earlier, I'd love it if the Cobblers got through!! bloody leeds! and the thing is, if they do manage it through to the third round i bet they draw a big premier league tie and that'll be on the bloody box as well!! rage

Would that be their ee bah gums?

I live a good 40 miles from Leeds and am amazed how many Leeds supporters there are in this neck of the woods. Sheffield is closer, Hull is closer, but the thing is Leeds were the only moderately successful primadonnaship team anywhere near here for a long time. So they hoovered all the glory hunters up.

Give it time and they'll end up switching. Prolly to Manchester City once that club's money starts chelsifying.
