All game, they had possession, yes but never troubled ALB who had to make one save all night. Nelson and Collins were sound all night, starting to look better, Humphries one glaring mistake where he misjudged the ball and was left by their player. But overall sound defence though with only one forward upfront most of the game, it made life easier for us. Well taken goal, by Brown after some good build up play, and Robson made their keeper pull off a fine save with minutes to go with a well stroke shot from 20-25 yards.

Have to be honest, dont think I've seen a worse team than Carlisle this season and I was never ever worried that they would get an equaliser.

I said in a previous post, after the Walsall win that fans' shouldn't get carried away, as it was feasible that we may not get as many points from the next 4 games as some were saying. Although I did say they were all winnable if we put on any sort of performances in them.

To get a return on 9 points from the first 3 of them 4 is way over any expectations I had after leaving Walsall's ground even though we had won.

Orient is , as I say winnable but anything from it will be a bonus after 4 wins on the trot. And with the defence keeping successive clean sheets, confidence should be getting better.

I said I would carry on supporting Wilson but that I would turn on Wilson if results and performances didn't improve. That for now and for future games won't happen from me. We have managed to improve defensively and will always cause teams problems going forward.

Keep it up lad's we are getting there. There are stiffer tests to come but if confidence keeps going up we can overcome those tests.

And I will still happily settle for an improvement on last season. Top 6 will just be a bonus,I'm not that carried away yet.

my gut instinct is still that we arent good enough defensively to be considered genuine top 6 material.

that said at least we aint relegation material.

I totally agree with that,But at the moment, we seem to have an outlet in Kyle to help the defenders re-organise to some extent when we do clear.

And that from me, who said and i will quote myself here, "Kyle was a waste of a shirt" after his performance against Walsall.

But, what the, we're all entitled to change our opinion. Just maybe he needed a couple of games.

Next to you mate.

2 pies, 2 burgers counter assistant says £9:20, then O sorry think I undercharged you there, give me £9. I readily agreed. Still trying to work it out. Undercharged at £9:20 then asked for £9. But I didn't want to argue.

to be fair bob he was godawful at northampton as well.

you can only call it as you see it.

him and clark have added some backbone to the side for sure.

Is this the "hardest" spine of a team we have ever had?

Collins, Clark and Kyle. I wouldnt fancy meeting them in a dark alley

there's some mean players there for sure. Pools looked a much bigger side than Brighton as well - all over the pitch we had players who towered over their opposite number, and the Pools players who aren't 6' were all built like tanks in comparison to the Brighton players. One thing we can't say is that Pools lack a physical presence anywhere on the field.

doesnt sound as tho there were too many pools fans there mr bob. normally we would take 700-1000.

anyone know ?

there were about 550 Poolies there on what i can say was the poorest Carlisle team ive seen for years.

Nelson, Collins, Clark and Kyle were superb last night for me, with Kyle's hold up play and decision making when he new he could'nt beat men with his pace was excellent. The only downside for me was our fans singing about DArlo again, I mean once or twice is ok but it gets a bit boring after a bit.

It was probably on par with Oldham the coldest football match ive ever been too. It was freezing but it was all worth it for 3 points.

Just to say i thought the defence was excellant last night and that Nelson won every challenge and every header and ALB made a very good save at the end
