absolutely mind boggling. It was dangerous play and there were no arguments about the free kick but it was a crazy decision to book him.

Was that the one given for the slightly high foot, if so it was minutes after Savage had done the same for Brighton and he wasn't even spoken to about it

It was given because the Brighton player lashed out when he tried to see if he was hurt and then the Brighton players surround him and the referee and pressurised him into giving it.

Just like when Ben Clark's late challenge against Huddersfield was given a yellow card because the Huddersfield bench came on and pressurised the referee.

It was a ridiculous booking, the lad ducked into his foot. It didn't surprise me that ref booked him though. Saying that I thought, for once, the ref was decent yesterday.

The Brighton players were a bit better behaved than last season, saying that the likes of Elphick didn't have much to get cocky about seen as he was given a torrid afternoon from a front two that just had a bit to much off for him.

another factor is that Dean Wilkins wasn't in charge - he used the situation last season to wind Pools up. I don't believe for a second they would have been so badly behaved if Adams was in charge last season - he seems to be a level headed bloke

Agree 100%. Last season you could see that every player had been told to wind up. They were mouthing off at our players at every oppertunity, late challenges immeditley followed by exchanges of words and obviously the big bust up at the end.
