I Can't Believe It....Gutted!!!!

I've been listening to Martha Wainwright's 2 CD's tonight at work and when I've came in I thought I would check to see if she is doing any shows over here anytime!!!! :coool:

She was only playing The Empire at Middlesbrough....TO'fecking'NIGHT!!!! banghead

I'm Gutted!!!! :evil:

Saw her at Glastonbury this year. One of my highlights. Absolutely superb. Would have gone to the gig but i'm on a training course on a Thursday night.

A good friend of mine was a big fan of LWIII, this was one of his favourites, he tried to kill himself, probably after listening to it too many times.

I've still got Album II, but haven't listened to it for years. Samson & the Warden was my favourite track.

They're a musical dynasty with Rufus and Martha's mother being one of the McGarrigle sisters of Canadian folkie fame. I got to see the McGarrigles together with Rufus and Martha at the Lowry a couple of years ago. Rufus was the least interesting especially when he got all the gays in the audience to wave back at him.

Martha was really good singing her own songs one of which referred to Louden Wainwright 111 as 'Mother F******, Brother F****** Asshole'.

Didn't seem very popular in the Wainwright household did old Louden 111
