Wilson quashes rumours

Hartlepool manager Danny Wilson has played down talk of the League One club signing Coventry striker Kevin Kyle.

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a loan move to Hartlepool after being told by Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman that he was surplus to requirements at the Ricoh Arena.

However, Wilson insists he has no interest in the former Sunderland striker at the moment.

"Kevin is one of the players we have always admired," Wilson told BBC Radio Tees. "If he became available and we could afford it, then yes, but at the moment it is not possible and we are not really under pressure to bring people in."

Kyle joined Coventry from Sunderland in August 2006 for a fee of £600,000 but has found himself on the fringes of the first-team since Coleman replaced Iain Dowie as manager in February.

Danny has spoken, ...... so who's gonna tell him there's a big lump impersonating Kyle but playing like a daft lad who's won a competition to play in a footy match... he should be told.

He'll come good.

From his performance yesterday there more chance of me making my debut for Pools between march 2008 and the end of the season.

And I'll be 50 then.
