Can I be the first to point out that the current 17th placed team in league one had a player sent off at 0-0 in the first half and that they made ten changes from the eleven that play in the league. They obviously would rather take a fine than risk the first team against fourth division cloggers.

But Darlo did win 1-0 so fair play to them. 'Uddersfield were obviously intimated by a stadium that was bulging at seams being at just over 6% of it's capacity.

They also had a player sent off didn't they?

You can only beat the likes of Accrington Stanley and ten men reserve teams.

To be fair if you can avoid Leicester until the area final you have a decent chance making a few quid out of it, none of the league one clubs and hardly any of the fourth division outfits are bothered about the competition, I'm sure Penney wouldn't have been arsed about going out tonight although it's always good to win.

I've never been as uninvolved as I was watching our JPT game this season, but if you have a bit of luck you are potentially two games from a two legged area final with Leicester after getting your customary bye.

Huddersfield are so upset that the reserve team lost to Darlo the chairman has issued the following statement.

Following the Club's defeat at Darlington last night in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy the Club states:

"We are particularly disappointed last night. People are going through difficult times at the moment, this includes our supporters and their families. Despite this, their backing for the Club remains magnificent. It is important that the Club recognises this and also does not take this support for granted. In these circumstances we feel the right thing to do is offer the fans who travelled to Darlington and supported us their money back*"

Just a thought but if they hadn't made 10 changes to the 1st team they may of just won the tie.

Hey Sussex....How Sussex.....c'mere.....

Look mate, I know it's difficult, when your team are the fat, asthmatic, smelly kid of North East football, but in order to play in League One, you have to get out of the Conference Premier,...sorry, League Two.

How you do this is beat more teams than you lose to, y'know, the Morecambes, the Dagenhams, the Macclesfields, the Accringtons, and so far this has proven beyond you. Now you just might have to accept that your Mummy's gone to God,.....sorry!!!....I mean might have to accept that there are teams in your division that want to thwart your desires, so, in a nutshell, when you get promoted and can survive at our level, give us a shout but until then, a win in the pisspot trophy is like a public wank where you don't get arrested.

Satisfying but only briefly............

Yes every bit, taken from the Huddersfield official site.

Sussex I was told today that one of your defenders smokes and even worse has a quick drag at half time during matches, is it a wind up or true?.

I think the was White?.
