There are rumours abounding round here (Port Vale) that Ritchie Humphreys is signing for us shortly on a loan pending the transfer window. He did reasonably well for us when he was here last but looking at the posts here, he doesn't seem to be pulling up any trees at the moment.

I noticed he had been playing in defence for Hartlepool but he was a midfielder for us. What is the situation?

Thanks in advance.

He's our club captain and is ever present so I'd say there is absolutely no chance in it happening, we haven't got a recongnised left back he's playing in that position so again I'd say there is absolutely no chance unless we signed a proper left back but that hasn't happened since shell suits were quite acceptable attire.

Some on here would be cracking one off if it did, mind.

He's only ever present because of a lack of competition. As the man said, we don't have a left back worthy of the description so Humphreys has been used in that position.

If it frees up wages to bring in a good left back I think most would welcome it. He'll would well for you at that level as a midfielder.

There are some on here who would give up on life if it happened.

I have been a fan of Humps for years but this season he simply is out of his depth at left back, the Darlo fans would have you believe there is little or no step up in quality from Division 4 to 3 but I am sure you lot will know thats not true. Either in Midfield or defence RH would do a very good job for Vale but like everyone is saying we afford to let him go until a replacement is found.

We need to sign a proper left back and a proper right back, that it is obvious. I don't see Humphreys having to leave the club if this happens though. OK it would mean that he wasn't in the starting eleven as I wouldn't pick him on the left wing ahead of Monkhouse but he would be good competition for a spot lads in midfield. He has played his best football for Pools in midfield and I believe he is still a more than useful member of the squad. His form has been poor of late but he's had some good games in the early part of this season even at left back.

People have wrote him off before and he's bounced back.

im very reassured by that and am expecting to see us keep a clean sheet on friday night.,

rolfl rolfl rolfl

The man is a fkin idiot.

I can't take a single word he says seriously any more.

Even the chairman is having a sly dig at him when he says that we play better set up as 4-4-2.

Hopefully his days are numbered.

I would agree that no ONE individual is at fault

Yet I would disagree wholeheartedly.

ONE individual most certainly is at fault.

A certain Mr Daniel Wilson.

Or rather he fails to hide the fact that he is an incompetent tit.
