He did a signing/talk in the corner flag 29th Sep and he was top draw.

He talked openly about the Gibson era and the promotion squad of 91. The tins of Ruby red on the coach for the away games, 42nd street on a Wednesday night with the players. His first five weeks at pools he never got paid. The dole office said to him you played for Pools last Saturday and he had to explain that he never got paid…Good old days

Lots of stuff that didn’t go in the book for one reason or another. I’ve read a few post on the board about the publication

I know John Riddle who wrote it and published it. No help from many home quarters was giving in material etc- so that might help explain the lack of photographs, club info etc

Brian answered questions for a good hour +. Talked about being offered an coaching job at Ipswich at the start of the season but turned it down.

He back at Bishop Auckland fc as manager to stay and they should have the new ground up and running in the next couple of years. I have supported them through my memorabilia collection with donations over the last few years. My prediction is once they have a home ground again, they will be a force in football once again. A club with a lot of football history.

Brian give a true 100% for the club he played for over ten years and was not the most gifted, yet he give it his all in a blue & white shirt.

I know it’s a bad word on here for some – Ebay – A signed copy is for sale to raise funds for The Hartlepool District Hospice – 100% is donated.

In his first 5 weeks his performances didn't deserve a pay packet.

Quick but just not cutting the mustard Mr Ripper clappp

Brian also talked about Cyril when he was at Darlo(did you know he played over a 100 games)that he was out the following season because Cyril wanted big lads. The next season Brian was out and Darlo went on to promotion.

Also the feeling in Pools 1990/91 season was Cyril had taken the club as high as he could in the division when he fell ill.
As a manager Cyril would come down on the players, he would shout and ball them out, they didnt dare make a mistake. Murry came in and was very layed back, hence the 42nd street nights out etc Murry had only ever meet the players to sort out the suits for them at the start of that season  Gibson called a meeting of the players and told them Murry was in charge. Brian said everyone was in shock because Robson was the driving force behind the team. Pools went away to Aldershot with Murry incharge and the rest is history.

How did Cyril get the Pools job? Gibson went to the supporters club with a list of names and said pick one. Gibson wanted Malcolm Allison, but the supporters wanted Cyril Knowles. Happy Days

It's people having delusions that there superior fans or that they know stuff us mere mortals don't know.

It's because of messages like that which makes people believe that some posters on here think there better than us.

The only thing Dibble knows is the pizza hart menu off the top of his head

Now think about what you have just said.

I said I knew something very interesting about Brian Honour, when he was at Pools. Its not controversial but it DID come form a very reliable source. Infact it shows Brian up in a very good light. But I am still not telling you the source.

Carry on ladies.

Was it the fact he was offered a job with the 'Loid during Houchen's tenure a manager, he told Keef and Keef told him to 'fcuk right off'

Or is that just old bollox?

I know more than most about Brian, but thats what makes the guy likeable , he is only human and makes mistakes like the rest of us.

Top man , who used to go out of his way to get me complimentaries for away games even though I didnt really want them as I liked to stay in the pub till kick off rather than walk up to the ground at 230pm.

To be honest Dibs, I don't see any great issue in saying who it is, its not as if it can cause any trouble.
