Im not being funny but i would agree... Jones was at full speed and he simply took him out, none of the other defender would have caught him.

That'll be the clubs fault for not allowing their reporter to sit in the Press Box!

rolfl

And no way was he through on goal, two defenders in middle only had to run backwards to cut him off. Ok he may have took then on but to suggest he was "clear through on goal" is almost as bad as saying he was "pulled back"

Probabaly, if he wasnt trying to elbow Joel at every opportunity, he was blatantly trying to kick Foley out of the ground. If it wasnt for Foley getting out of his way at one point, he would have been sent off earlier.

An utter thug. Even tried to start Collins when he was walking off, shoulder barged him out the way. What a knob.

It also said in the Mail that Barker was fouled for the penalty, a fair effort a full 28 minutes before he even took the field sctatchinghead I suppose the view isn't as good from the terrace as the press box

Actually looking at the sending off on TV I don't think it was think it was quite as harsh as I first thought, it was an extremely reckless challenge and he went in quite high. It was still just a yellow for me though Jones was bombing on at full pelt which always makes a mistimed challenge look worse than it is.

I dont believe he intended to get the ball, it was a malicious challenge where he wanted the man just like his effort at kicking Foley over the stand. Red all the way for me.

You could be right after seeing it again.

Oldham are a good side, they'd be a better one without him he's shite and past it.

Definitely a red for me - serious foul play refred

I noticed in the warm up and I also noticed when he was playing against us in a friendly for Leeds a while back - he must be one of the heaviest outfield players in all of the divisions. Hes got a right fat arse on him. Commanding in the air but slow on the deck, as the sending off highlighted.

At the time I didn't think it was a sending off offence and I've not seen a replay so stick by that.

But he's an ex loid so he deserved it.

I've just watched the 10 minutes of highlights on the official site. No doubt in my mind he deserved red. He wasn't the last man, but he had no intention other than to take Jones out.

Watching those 10 minutes reinforced my view that Porter was the man of the match. Being generous Humphries was 8th best.
