when I heard earlier that John Terry's red card had been rescinded from the weekend. It boils my piss though. Who reckons if Sam Collins or Micky Nelson had rugby tackled someone who got away from them they'd have won an appeal?

It was a debatable sending off as a defender may have got round to cover but the appeal was about 20 times more frivolous than ours for the Collins dismissal at Southend last season that was extended for being frivolous. It would have been a fine try saving tackle at Twickenham, a professional foul in every sense of the word.

Of course though they take each appeal individually and aren't affected by who it is and who they play for rolfl

You after laugh dont yer?

Terry's case will have been helped by the 20 setanta and bbc cameras zooming in on it, at Southend we probs had 1.

It made me laugh last season how Chelsea appealed a Frank Lampard red card, and got it rescinded, only to not even play him in the next game, whats the point then!!

It was fooking joke of a challenge, what place does an egg chasers tackle have on a football field? Maybe not dangerous like a two footed tackle but still it has no place on a football field.

I'd have banned the twat for three months and made him play in the front row for Harlequins while serving it.

I'd describe it as a "sh!t i this guys beaten me for pace cos im a slow over rated centre back so i'll bring him down" tackle.

So would I

Much as I hate to support Terry, that was never a red card challenge. confised

It wasn't a red card but my point is that they wouldn't have even considered rescinding that if a lower league club had appealed, it would have been treat with the contempt ours was last season.

By the way, last night I saw the challenge made by Guthrie of Newcastle on Craig Fagan at the weekend. Now Guthrie has openly admitted that he was frustrated with how the game was going so he just lashed out (he actually had two goes at it). Fagan has a broken leg. How is that a three game ban and not, say, an assault charge? confised

Who would have thought it, Newcastle sign a thug

I heard on the grapevine that they are seeking legal advice on the situation between Guthrie and Fagan. Dont take my word for that as it is clearly just hearsay.

The referee said he sent Terry off not because he was the last man but because it constituted serious foul play. Personally I agree with Halsey, it was a rugby tackle and has no place on a football pitch, it should have stood and he should have got a three match ban refred

On Talksport this afternoon both of the presenters were absolutely adamant that it wasn't a red card, one of them then said do you think that Halsey will be relegated to the Hartlepool Oldham game this weekend as punishment, the patronising twat.

I reckon that the red card should have stood as well, with it being for serious foul play, but you could also argue that it was a professional foul as well, even though it was just over the half way line he prevented a 2 on 1 break and you have to fancy the forwards chances in that situation
