Looking at last night's WBA lineup was like taking a mini-tour of Europe

Three English
One Irish*
One Northern Irish
One Belgian
One French
One Slovenian
One Slovakian
One Spanish
One Czech

* Dean Kiely was an Irish international, though he was born in England.

As subs they used a Scot, a Portuguese and a Dutchman, leaving a Pole on the bench alongside another Dutch, Scottish and English. Twelve nationalities in total, with one more in reserve. Easily the most multi-national side ever to play at the Vic!

I bet it's hell up there when Eurovision's on !!!!

Eh?

Greening was an unused sub for ManYoo in their Cashpot final win in 1999.

Chris, if you mean is he the first player to be involved in a Champions League final to then go on to play in a competitive match at the Vic, then yes I suppose he is. If you include friendlies then both Michael Reizeger and Nicky Butt have played here recently.

Now of course if you are talking about the proper, worthwhile, European Cup then it's a different question and a different answer.

you mean how many players who have been on winning european cup teams have played for pools
will that do for the question

I'm thinking of forming a Danish Hartlepool United Supporters Association, seeing as my family used to come from Copenhagen ?

Either that or a University of Kent Hartlepool United Appreciation Society when I get there - I'll probably end up president, treasurer and secretary.

But seriously, where do Yakkers come from ? Why are they called Yakkers ? Sounds like they are a type of Buffalo, don't they?
