This happened right at the start of 2004 as well with Greece, the so-called illustrious land where the Ancient Olympic values came from - this is somewhat ironic considering 4 hours a Chinese table tennis player declared:

In the name of all the competitors I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them, committing ourselves to a sport without doping and without drugs, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honour of our teams.

What a disgrace, they've just gone back on their word.

Also, Russia invading South Ossetia - could have talked this over like adults, the Olympics preach the rightful value of peace and then hours later two Olympic countries are heading to war - their delegations couldbe pulled out!!!!!
