There's no way on earth that they can do anywhere near that for an Opening Ceremony!!!! :shock: :shock:

the British one can have a procession of z grade celebrities from "I'm a big brother get me out of the x factor", people in the middle drinking and fighting, and coppers chasing chavs around the track.

That was actually quite stunning, gave you an insight into the old China.
I liked the mix of philosophy and history, and the torch lighting was superb.

China have thrown down the gaunlet to us here.

It was what the Chinese history and philosophy is all about. Ex-gymnasts were often spotted in 'Old China' walking around the outside of stadium roofs with a torch to be preceded by fireworks.

It used to happen all the time.
