If it was indeed true that we were interested in him now is the time to strike, It seems he has failed to agree terms with Crewe and we could make a move.. Assuming Danny has any budget at all.

GO get him Mr Wilson! rolf

I think he got a bit upset when some on here told him he wasn't so special. Can't remember what the spat was about now. violin

If Barker is rumoured to be going it might pave the way for Donaldson?

He couldnt agree terms with crewe, who had agreed a fee of £200,000 for him.
I cant see us spending that on a player, and personally I wouldnt spend that on a player who has been an abject failure in scotland, and whose previous experience is with a mediocre conference side.

How do you know they didnt agree a fee with us? But Crewe just raised it, Remember the Duffy saga from Hull to Swansea?

I dont know. I am making a comment on the facts as they are now.
Even if we had agreed a fee and crewe upped the stakes I wouldnt consider getting into a bidding war at those sort of prices for a player with his very limited experience and lack of any obvious outstanding ability.

I may be wrong but I believe the highest we've ever offered for a player was 125K for McDonald?

How old was he?

Did he have a farm?

Yeah but I've lost count of all the stuff he had on it.

I thought we'd bid more for Duffy?

What are the comments of people saying we should sign him based on? Have they seen him play? He has never scored a goal in the league and I remember even when he was scoring for York most of their fans weren't that convinced. Quick but not the most polished player £200,000 would be a huge gamble for a club of our size.
