right i have sky bb and have just bought the wife a laptop which is wireless and connected to sky and lives downstairs,the main computer is upstairs and connected to a printer,can i print off the laptop without having to connect it to a printer?,and if so what do i need to do?

it's pretty straight forward really sharing and connecting

differs a bit if you using xp or vista but generally

pc assuming xp - control panel.
printers and hardware, and then printers n faxes
select your printer and then share this printer
properties - sharing tab
select share it and share name and ok it
should be it but haven't used xp for while

if vista
into printers in control panel
right click
sharing
change sharing options
wait for the usual fookin are you sure shite from vista and select share this printer

to use laptop (assuming vista)

select printers
add printer
select network printer and it should bring it up

job done (should be anyway) - works for me

thanks katcha did everything you said and have finally got it going,i had to update drivers on both computers one xp and 1 vista,also zone alarm would,nt let me use the printer (epson dx4050)i had to allow access to the main computer,it was treating it as hostile,anyway thanks again
