Before the Twenty20 Finals day, the authorities in control of planning the new Twenty20 Champions League announced that both the Winners and Runners Up of this year's English Twenty20 Cup would be invited automatically to take part in the Champions League.

This year, Middlesex beat Kent in a thrilling 20/20 Final at Edgbaston and as a Kent fan, although I was disapointed to lose the final against Middlesex on the last two balls, I was proud of the performanace Kent put up because I knew that because of them reaching the final, I thought that they would be able to play in this international league as Runners Up with Middlesex.

Today, the BCCI (Indian Cricket - the hosts) have broken their promise and announced that Kent will not be invited to compete, just Middlesex AND I'M ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED for the Kent boys who have put in so much effort to improve the 20/20 side. Winning the competition last year and finishing runners-up were great achievements for us considering when this format started we were CRAP AND I MEAN CRAP.

The international cricket authorities have just cost Kent County Cricket Club a possible total of £3 million.

With all the money around now, cricket will be split down the middle with the BCCI and Stanford putting big money into tournaments. The ECB didn't know how big a monster they created when they devised T20.

The Champions League was a good idea but as it isn't an ICC tournament (although it does have their backing), there was always going to be disagreements. Its like kids playing cricket in the park. Because there's no umpire, the kid with the bat will decide when he's out otherwise he's taking it home.
