Have you been to the Chessington World of Adventures our lass has said she wants to go for a weekend or midweek break, weve done a bit of looking around but any info you can pass onto me would be a help. For instance is it cheaper to stay nearby, if so where? Is there any travellodge etc nearby.

We done a search for family of 4 staying in there hotel inc 2 day tickets and prices came out about £240 which i think must be a mistake. Has anyone else been it looks really good.

My brother went there couple of years ago Timmy and he stayed at the Chessington Tolworth Travellodge I think that it was only around £60 per night for the room

If you want Timmy i have a couple of buy one get one free entry tickets if you want them that way if you were to go to the theme park for 2 days you could just pay in separate each day

we took our young'un to Legoland about 5 years ago, but she was already about 2 years too old for it......................I would say the upper limit for most kids at a place like that is 7, maybe 8. She was bored silly!!!! Mind she'd been spoilt after having been to Disney and Universal etc in Florida on two different occasions when she was even younger!!!!!

I realised after 10 minutes in the park I had to quickly come up with an alternative itinerary, which included a West End Show the following night!!! Daytime was more enjoyable either visiting Windsor, or shopping/sightseeing in London. We all agreed not to go to another one of the nearby theme parks and do something a bit different.

Chessington is great for kids but at 7 yrs old, be aware that your lad won't get on all the rides. Don't let that put you off, there is still be plenty to do and of course, you have the Zoo itself which is good fun.

As ADG says, their is a Premier Inn next door and their is also a Travel Lodge in Tolworth which is about 3 miles away. Doesn't surprise me about the Holiday Inn price. I looked into a similar trip to Alton Park staying at their on site Hotel but soon changed my mind when I saw the price.......... Travel lodge is probably cheaper option (I have seen prices of £10 + £25 per night on occasion there, check the travel lodge website for offers). Premiere Inn will be about £60 per night. The Travel Lodge is about 3 miles from the Park.

Whilst in the area, try Bocketts Farm which is about 6/7 miles from Chessington (just south of Leatherhead). Indoor and outdoor play areas and and farm animals that you can feed. Quite good value too, well for the SE in anycase!

Or Horton Farm which is even closer by. Again, indoor and outdoor play areas and cheaper than Bocketts. Food at both places are pretty naff though so take sarnies if you can.
