near the Touchdown, but there's no posts there yet. I haven't seen any posts up anywhere in town so far.

On any of the council owned pitches there are no goal posts going up until the weekend before the season starts. Typical Council Shat!!!

season starts the 10th of aug, and if the last few years are anything to go by posts wont be up till a week before, as stated. We have played at west view school over the last few years, but that was against the team which played there at the time. Try tunny old boys, they use their own pitch?

OK i least I know they will be up in time for when I want it!

Are any of these the kind of pitches you can just walk onto on a sunday evening though and play?

if you fold your jumpers up neatly enough, you could pile them quite high and then lay a clothes prop along the top.
Careful not to hit the bar or post though, as the game will be held up for several minutes while the goal is rebuilt.
