If you don't drive to the ground, what's the nearest railway station for Prenton Park, anyone know ?

Or would I have to get a bus or something from Lime Street ?

Or even the *SCREECHES OFF-KEY* FERRY ACROSS THE MERSEY ?!!  clappp clappp rolfl rolfl

You catch the merseyrail train to Birkenhead Central. From the station you can either walk, get a taxi or there is a bus that passes the ground. From the station to the ground is mostly uphill but it is a pleasant enough walk on a nice day. Allow thirty or forty minutes to walk it. More if you call for a pint or two on the way.

Mr Mumtaz's Rucksack gets married that day - a lot of folks from the No Rarfs Arms will be in attendance at said wedding. Not arsed about going to Tranmere anyway, we'll only lose (and concede two). Don't anyone come on and say "how do I know we'll let 2 in and lose"?

We got off at Birckenhead and walked and walked. It's all in a straight line. Then eventually you get there just when you're wondering if you've gone the wrong way.

I'm just thinking whether it would be easier to get the ferry over to Birkenhead after arriving in Liverpool, or get a bus heading through the Mersey Tunnel, would it be quicker then on the train over there ?

There'll be a train under the river from St James Station opposite Lime Street. I don't know where the ferry terminal is in relation to the Birkenhead Stations.

Check cos I've had a drink.
