Could someone please explain which category these fall into please....

At the top of York Road ramp over the past 2/3 Months I've saw 4 different people selling the Big Issue!!!!
Now to me they look like they are from the Balkan region of Europe....Romania/Bulgaria....and possibly from the same family and by the sounds of it can speak very little English!!!!

So how come they are here???? sctatchinghead

They are obviously not working (apart from selling the Big Issue) and paying Taxes!!!! confised

The reason I ask is this....I thought you were welcome over here if you actually brought something into the Country....ie.a skill so you could work....or you were claiming Asylum because your country of origin isn't safe for you to return!!!! confised

Now I'm not having a go at these people but what are they actually bringing to this country???? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead
To me they just seem like Charity Cases if they have to sell the Big Issue and haven't we got enough of them already?!?! confised

I know to emigrate to Austrailia you have to fill in form after form explaining why you should be accepted and what skills you have etc etc!!!!

They look Romany to me, meaning they could be from anywhere in Eastern Europe. If they're citizens of Poland or one of the other countries entitled to the freedom of travel within Europe then they themselves are legally entitled to be here under EU Law, regardless of whether they work or not.

Who knows, Muttley.
You say they look like Balkans which isn't much to go on.
Perhaps they had jobs then lost them and are looking for new ones.
Or maybe they are illegal immigrants.
Or maybe they are English people learning Serbo-Croat and practising it between themselves.

If you feel strongly about them go ask - oh I dunno - the Mayor for example.

They have been brought in by the Tories and liberal Democrats to boost their chances of outing Mr Wright. That being the case I would of thought they would be very welcome.
