I am nearly 42 and I reckon I would have scored for Pools by now if I had played 73 times.

Before everyone slags the lad off completely maybe it is worth considering how many of those seventy odd games has Foley actually started. And also out of those games that he has started - how many have been up front?

Foley has a new contract so lets give the lad a chance - he had a poor second half of the season but he looked a dangerous player in Division Four and in the early parts of last season. He won't be taking up huge resources - lets hope things work out for him and Pools.....

He's been much worse in the 17 games he's started in the league for the club, he's only ever made in an impact as a ten to fifteen minute sub and even in those he has not scored a goal. I can remember two decent performances as a starter, home to the Lampies when we drew 0-0 when they parked the team bus in the goal mouth, and at Carlisle on New Years Day.

He's a lucky, lucky lad to be getting another two years as a league one footballer but I obviously hope he proves us wrong as he's Pools player.

Wherever he's started or come on as sub he's an attacking player and it's a glaring lack of the ultimate end product.

Two years?
