Danny must have seen something in him but I can't help thinking, surely we have youth players who will be just as good as this?

I wonder if we're going to spend any actual money this summer?

Yeah but he came from a premiership club and had league experience

I hope this lad is good, of course I want him to do well but I'm justa bit confused as to why Danny isn't using our youth and getting other teams cast offs?

I never stated you were un happy, People just didnt like the sound of Liddle because he was unknown, He has done well though.

Optimistic at least it gives Boland a bit of competition.

This won't do. It goes completely against all our "ageing midfielders" values.

Of course it is one of the 3 he's going to make. It won't be long before we get the usual bolox on the official site and in The Mail about how this lad is the next big thing and how he is a major piece in the jigsaw.

The other 2 could be midfielders yet too, as Wilson has admitted to not knowing what positions need strengthening and is instead just gonna take the first 3 players which become available.

Which month of this year do you think it'll be before we see this Power kid playing at full back?

Maybe even the £100 season tickets aren't value for money while this clown is still in charge. rolfl

Gary Liddle's first league game was in a Pools shirt. He had no experience in league football, just the same as this new lad.
To be honest I would rather have a twenty year old who is promising than another 'veteran'.
I haven't seen him play so will reserve judgement until I do. I think that is only fair.

The thing is, Wilson's made some good signings. I can't argue that. People are quick to jump on his back as it's Wilson - I get the feeling that if another manager made the signing, there wouldn't be any complaints until Power made the people complain.

I'm gonna reserve judgement too I think.

Lets give the lad a chance. I'd rather we signed a decent goalkeeper but never mind, it is still a posistion that needed strengthening as Sweeney willl probably only be used as a right back or right midfielder next season.

'surely we have youth players who will be just as good as this....I wonder if we're going to spend any actual money this summer?'

'when you have just announced the season ticket prices............to also announce a major signing. This would get the tickets moving. Signings like this..........well they just want to make people wait and see'

'I haven't been so underwhelmed at the prospect of a new football season in my life'

Even by the Bunker's standards, these are ridiculously OTT reactions to the signing.

What exactly is a major signing? Some of the best players Pools have had the last couple of years have been inexpensive, unknown quantities that have excelled at this level. Would you prefer another Thompson or Elliott? Or a season long loan from one of the biggest clubs in the world? Would that be major enough for you?

The lad hasn't even set foot through the door and he's already not even better than our youth team players. For the love of God!

I fail to see what there is to be depressed about. if this is Wilson's only signing by the start of August then I will be depressed but f*cking hell its the start of bastard June.

You lot need a fucking holiday!!!

No we dont. We are he fabric of a message board..............unlike others who only post to try and stop us posting.

Dont take it so foookin seriously......you are starting to sound like Mark Simpson.

He has a point Mr ADG - have a bit of optomism, the sun is shining, it's party season and last season is thankfully over.

Although Wilson made stupid decisions last season and seemed to try his best to take us down at times, is it not now time to draw a line in the sand and start afresh.?

Nice bit of selective quoting there as before that I said that Danny must have seen something in him but I can't help thinking...

it was hardly an attack, it seems you're just going against everyone to stir up an argument that doesn't exist. No one has said this is a bad signing, we have simply stated that we hope he's going to be better than we've got, as on the face of it he's not had much experience.

It's hardly a cartwheel signing, and with Wilsons recent comments about having no money to spend it IS hard to be excited at the coming season. This is based on the dross we were served up with last season and the apparent inactivity in the transfer market.

Surely even the most optimistic among us can see that we're in for a struggle if we don't improve?

I'm tending to side with TPP on this one.
Everyone seems to want us to sign nailed-on experienced players from a level we can't afford.
But with our resources we just have to take chances and hope they work out.
The signings we have made from higher divisions in the recent past aren't much of an argument for the first option are they.

Of course it was selective quoting but the fact still remains that you said 'surely we have youth players who will be just as good as this' which is an absolutely ludicrous comment IMO.
