Wasn't Shakespeare Avenue always a bit dodgy like? I remember back in 1973 when I was a postie it was a walk I didn't particularly look forward to. There were some pretty scary redneck hovels at the bottom of Tristram and Tennyson.

They were nice quiet streets not so long ago aswell!!!! confised

I think it's just one or two bad tenants in streets makes you notice them more. In the past all the wrong 'uns all lived in the same council-owned areas, so most other estates were rabble-free. Now they are all spread out, so it seems like everywhere is a bad place to live.
