Just sent this to Chester City. I wonder if they reply.

Given that the FA has said the Jon Daly Red Card was a case of wrongful dismissal and minded of the quote on your website:

"Meanwhile, Mark Wright defended the decison by referee Mr Woolmer.

Following the match Wright said: "Right under our noses, he's thrown an elbow and hit him. If you lead with the elbow then that is what happens. Whether he's thrown it intentionally I don't know but the linesman's seen it that way."

Will Mark Wright now admit that his defender cheated and that there is no place in football for such behaviour?

Will the Chester fans admit that their player is a cheat?

I won't get involved but I'm sure some who is a bit mad, possibly called John might.

Im happy to see Daly cleared but as long as Artell goes unpunished the FA will have condoned his cheating.

Compare and contrast.....

http://www.devachat.com/index.php?showtopic=34441 in particular the post from Silloth.

Mind you, Chester have a bit of previous in a way. I remember someone being sent off for them after taking three steps along a prostrate Ian Clark's body, and a number of fans saying it was never a red card - or when forced to admit it was, saying Clark should have gone to because he reacted by going after the guy even though he was restrained by a couple of others before reaching him.....

The problem with Artell is he's been keen to exaggerate incidents in the past so I dont know if he genuinely got a whack in the face or it was more cry wolf. Wrightie's veiled reply seemed to imply the latter otherwise he'd have leapt to Artell's defence. Cant say I'd be proud if it were true but it certainly helped us get the three points.

So Artell has a reputation for doing this.

ow Hartlepools manager can claim it was a "blatant act of cheating" from the distance he was is beyond me. He can't have seen the incident clearly from his angle and is not being honest. I hope the television camera got it and then let's see what he says.

Not a bad one from that thread!

Meanwhile, in related news.........

Have you noticed that when anyone wants to add credence to their comments about an incident they always say that "it happened right in front of me". I always picture this huge mass of humanity that moves fluidly around the pitch in order to be johnny-on-the-spot for every incident, on and off the ball.

Happened right in front of me. Artell was clearly caught in the face by Daly's elbow and Artell knew nothing about what happened after that as he was clealry dazed

Have to agree, I was also right in front of it. Artell took the brunt of that elbow and it knocked him for six. Clearly a red card

Happened pretty much in front of me too. Artell was tight behind Daly who elbowed him presumably to try and make some room. Caught him in the face and Artell went down

I can't possibly think how that their manager can condone this. It happened right in front of me and was a blatant elbow.

So they all say that contact was made yet the linesman said it was a red card for intent so obviously some people are telling porkies (no Dibbs i am not talking about you  )

clap Brilliant, you've got to love their clouded judgement. Maybe all the members of that message board have formed a cult and have taken over a certain section of the ground. But then again...maybe not.
