All I want is the option of buying one for £227 without the clart on of finding somebody who didn't have a season ticket last year.

If the 2 for £454 didn't bar existing season ticket holders from the second ticket then I would be happy enough.

But seeing as though it does discriminate then they can shove them up their collective fat arses.

Yes, but why does it have to be so complicated? Isn't it the case that other clubs have simply reduced season tickets?

It not complicated really is it,

For me it season ticket at last season price (£354) minus £40 loyalty bonus for being season ticket holder for more than 2 years so £314, add mate to it who gets his for £100 total cost £414 divide by 2 so £207, divide by 23 the grand total of £9 per game. a 50% saving on turnstyle price.

Well, for one thing, it's complicated in the sense that you have to arrange to have posted to you the ID of someone you don't know in order to buy the tickets

Unless your mates who go to the match didn't have a season ticket last year.

Obviously if your mates did have one then you have the chew on like you say Ms G.

The whole thing stinks of piss.

maybe its just me but isnt it obvious why they have done it this way?

if they just offered them at 250 for everyone, would you bother trying to get people interested in going to pools? no you wouldnt.

this way they are getting the fans to drum up a bit of interest and trying to attract new fans to increase the attendances. and by doing this they are thanking the regulars by offering them a very impressive discount . now there are flaws to it, but the majority who put a slight bit of effort in to find 'a friend' will get a nice reward. simple as really.

now its up to pools to sign a decent player or two to drum up interest in season tickets

It's not complicated at all for those at whom the offer is targeted is it.

Possibly not, but it is for those arranging it, isn't it? who presumably have to cover the cost in the first instance before getting paid back?

No it isn't.

Cos the club don't want people "buddying up" just for the discount.

They want all of what they see as "the stupid bastads who will buy a season ticket every year anyway" to pay full price (albeit with a comparatively pathetic discount) and expect the only people to be getting the cheap ones are people who will only be prepared to pay £100. Whoever came up with this idea is obviously retarded enough to think that the new season ticket holder will only pay £100 and not split the cost with his mate. They are also probably stupid enough to believe that buffalos have wings and that fish have fingers.

What exactly are the club doing here???????
They are saying that you can have £40 off just for renewing your season ticket.
HOWEVER
If you can be bothered to team up with another person you can both save a further substantial amount. It is entirely up to you.
Here is my personal example.
Last year I bought........2 x £399 and 1 x £199....total £997-00.
This year I can get the same tickets for £ 877-00 just by renewing, saving £120-00.
OR
I can find three willing partners and pay £648-50. Which means I can save £ 348-50 on what I paid last year. On top of that another three people can save 2 x £149.50 and £49.50, also totalling £348.50. A grand total of £697-00 in savings. To put it another way. Instead of paying £1994 for 4 adults and two under 19's, we would be paying £1297.
Instead of giving it out on a plate, the club are asking for a bit of effort.
Now tell me that is not worth the hassle.

I agree, in a way, tho I also agree with the people who have reservations.
But there's still the problem of having to meet up with people, possibly out of town, to negotiate everything...something I could well do without, altho tho am prepared to do it

(Reservations are because I've bought a ticket for someone before (mentioning no names!!) and been left with the ticket on my hands. Would be no joke where £100s were involved)

I agree it is not a simple exercise, but if the person buying the extra ticket parts with the money before you go to buy it, then the jobs a goodun.
TBH with you I am happy with the £120 discount I am to get without any effort. However I am prepared to make the extra effort because it is a win win situation, if you do it right. From my point of view almost £350 saving is not to be sneezed at. So the effort I shall make. I wouldn't buy the extra ticket without the money up front as that is fraught with danger as you rightly point out.
