If I don't know somebody who wants to buy a season ticket who didn't have one last year I have to pay £314- £13.65 per match.

People getting one who didn't have one last season (along with the person who "introduces" them) have to pay £227 each- £9.87 per match.

So I have to pay an extra £87 over and above what others standing on the same terrace are paying.

I'm really tempted to sack the season ticket idea off and pick and choose my matches next season. If I do I might get "rewarded" for it the following season.

"Rewarding" people for not getting a season ticket? That's a novel but fkin stupid idea.

I like the payment plan idea, but still not going to get one, I have a horrible feeling shifts at work are going to change to more weekends.

It may well have been.

But deep down I didn't think that they would be so fkin stupid as to actually go through with it and penalise people for what they themselves refer to as "loyalty".

It's ludicrous.

Lets say theres a guy has held a season ticket for years and is called John Smith. John Smith is on the database so is ineligible for the discount. Joseph Smith however isn't and when was the last time you had to show id with your season ticket?

Plus the fact that I won't be buying one because of their ludicrous idea of what rewarding loyalty is all about.

So you're as far back as ever I'm afraid.

Have you ascertained if the tickets need to be for the same part of the ground yet like?

Thank the lord for people like offshore and Tickhill, people who are willing to out a bit of effort in to help fellow Poolies get the best deal

Ripper and ADG shape the fuck up you useless pair. Whinging all the time because your too lazy to find someone to 'buddy' up with is making you look really stupid.

Show some inititive and you can almost certainly save some money and take advantage of what seems to be a decent scheme that can be used by both season and non-season ticket holders, the first of its kind for the club and imo a fantastic idea.

Too lazy? Not stupid enough more like.

It's a stupid idea by the club and yet people are banging on about it being great.

There's none so blind etc.

For the first time in about 10 years I'm not gonna buy a season ticket and the daft thing is that if this year is owt to go by then I could be offered a reward next summer for opting out this season.

So you stick with your opinion about how fantastic it is, I'm pleased for you that you're happy- although to take a quote from you "it's making you look really stupid."

The scheme is obviously not perfect

But if you want to pay £20x23=£460 instead of £300 or whatever quid for a season ticket, just to save yourself a few quid the season after to prove a point, I really dont think anyone would care.
sctatchinghead

Season tickets are situational. If your situation is that your bored of Pools (I never ever would be), cant afford it, hate the manager or whatever then fair enough a season ticket may not be for you. But it appears to me alot of Poolies are gonna save a few bob by buddying up, and in the process the club will sell more season tickets.

Although we sell more season tickets, revenue from them may not go up although overall revenue would obviously be bumped up, hopefully I wont have to explain why.

This has led to me to think this is a good idea, for the club and for the supporters. Now explain to me again, why is it a bad idea? Because you dont want a season ticket this year, but might next year? sctatchinghead

As far as I'm concerned it's a bad idea cos they are claiming to be rewarding loyalty by offering existing season ticket holders the chance to buy a season ticket for a lot more money than they're offering them to people who didn't have one last season.

It's completely arse about face.

Surely you can see that?

So the spin they put on it is wrong.

But if your intelligent you can see through it.

Me and around 4-5 members of my family have had a season ticket for a fair few years now, but we can see that if we buddy up with people we can all potentially save money. We arent moaning on that us 'loyal' season ticket holders arent going to benefit, cause if we put some effort in, we will.

I find it difficult to believe that every Poolie non season ticket holder doesnt know or doesnt sit/stand next to a season ticket holder. And if you dont, which is possible, perhaps we should set up a forum here to help people buddy up ?

Mr Bosh, I go to the match with about 8 of my mates. All of us are existing season ticket holders.

Next year I know already that at least 2 of us won't be, and I've not spoken to the rest of them yet.

I would seriously urge you to reconsider, Mr Ripper. This system is not perfect but it IS an opportunity for each individual to get an improved deal. I go along with Dibbs that it would be much easier if the club said £250 each full stop..................but they haven't.
I suggest you try and match up and, if by Aug 8th you haven't managed to do so, then make your decision. Chip has asked for a Mill House match, why not take him up on it and save money for both of you.
I can see where you are coming from and I agree to a certain extent but there are advantages to be had. Give it a try, mate. The last thing we want is to lose support.
There is no mileage in Poolies falling out with each other over this. Come on lets make it work.

Serpently. Although they haven't said so, I'm sure the Club will sell the season tickets for wherever you want to be. If you've not had one before, the usual thing is to fill in the relevant form which has a section where you can enter your seat/stand preference. You need to have ID when you buy it, tho.

I think the junior ones are already on cheap offer, independently of this new thing

The T's & C's on the official site seem to indicate that both tickets need to be for the same section of the ground.

Good grief  So there's going to have to be a second tier arrangement : to enable people who've bought cheap season tickets in a part of the ground they don't want to be in, to swap over with other people in the same position but somewhere else sctatchinghead

This is probably a daft question but if the advert says the offer of an extra ticket for £100 is open to all types of tickets including students, concessions etc. Does that mean you can get another ticket for an adult for £100, even if your buying a childs ticket?

I think the child's ticket is not included in the offer (if by that you mean under 16), because that's reduced anyway. So, what you've got is the option to buy an adult or student ticket for the £100

So let's get this straight then, Mr Hero. You can get an adult season ticket cheaper than you suggest as your dream price (£250) by bothering your arse to find someone else who wants one. And you're still moaning.

If ,when you died , you were sent to eternal paradise with seven wiiling beautiful sisters you'd complain about wanting 8. There's no pleasing some people. This is a cut in season ticket prices of £100 - just shut up and buy one.

So rather than go on about what should or might have been, concentrate on what actually is available. Go and find a partner in crime and do a deal. I have already done a deal for one ticket with a member of this board. I'm sure somebody luvs ya.

The cheap ticket offer is for those who don't already have a ticket, the idea being to attract new season ticket holders.
What is complicated about that?

Nothing complicated.

They're basically penalising me and many others for forking out in advance last season for a season ticket that had next to no discount on it.

Had we not been stupid enough to have bought them last summer at over inflated prices then we'd have been eligible to get in for next to nowt this season.

So fk em.

No. I cant go and get a cheap ticket........are you as deluded as the rest of the clubmen on here?

I have to find a season ticket holder to go and do it.

Now 227 quid with the finance I could do with.

So its only a cut in price if you first find a season ticket holder not already getting one, and then not being allowed the finance agreement.

The way I see it is this:

Example:

Ripper and his seven mates are all season ticket holders......yes?

The club idea is they introduce 8 new people to pools.

When what they should infact do is split into 4 pairs, and get the tickets using their wives, girlfriends, mothers, fathers names.

So all 8 of them get a huge saving......and one I am happy with.

But the rest of us pay 354.

Only we wont. Will we?

See......take your rose tinted specs off sometime and see the reality.

Clubmen, miniclubmen?

You could bleat underwater

But happens he's right on this occassion.

I really can't see what people are complaining about here.

The club are not offering NON SEASON TICKET HOLDERS FROM LAST SEASON A TICKET FOR NEXT AT £100.

To get that offer they MUST APPLY WITH A CURRENT SEASON TICKET HOLDER.

The club and everyone connected to it know that the 2 people who apply will split the cost.

Therefore they saying have £40 off if you been a season ticket holder for more than 2 years and bring a friend and you save more.

Cost for me will £207 (I have a mate) there is really no way Pools could lower a cost of a season ticket to that without trying to get extra fans to purchase them, what they basically saying is instead of £354 pay £207 (or £227)

But what they are also doing is getting extra money because I pay £354 but my mate says he not getting one and will pick and choose his matches.

They give this offer my mate says Im in they get £414 an extra £60, and if the season is poor on the playing side , they wont particularly care as most of the money would have been put up front, so if the fan with a season ticket doesnt go they still have money.

IMHO it a superb deal I pay £9 a match and if we do have a cup run, I got my season ticket for tickets to any big game. And can anyone say hand on heart that they will be able to get a ticket for Leeds/ Leicester at home.

They will only be able to sell whatever number of tickets are not already sold as season tickets for those matches, which with the reduced price will, mean less available through the gate.

I still disagree with you.

Have I misunderstood something here?
The cheap ticket offer is for those who don't already have a ticket, the idea being to attract new season ticket holders.
What is complicated about that?

It is obviously complicated to some people, or haven't you noticed?

Always one for a conspiracy theory, I suspect an elaborate joke. As in 'Well, the fans are always saying they want to be more involved in the running of the Club..........'
In which case, yes they are reading

If they are then I hope that they know that whoever came up with this idea is a Grade A moron with retardation of the highest degree.

After their big FCK YOU to the fans I don't think I'll be buying their replica shirts this year either.

Or any other gear from the clubshop.

So that's the thick end of £500 I've saved today that they could have had if they weren't all a PACK OF CNTS.

Ripper......I dont understand you. This deal is superb for you. And your mates.

Four of you get tickets the other four get the cheap tickets undera false name.

You are all quids in.

I am complaining about having to find a season ticket holder then trusting them with 230 quid, finding the time to meet them, and basically not being able to fork out the cash anyway.

You and your mates are in a win win situation.......surely?

That's not the point though Dibbs.

The point is that because I forked out for the worst value season ticket in living memory last summer (i.e. cost v number of games, saving etc.) that in their eyes I'm not eligible to qualify for the best discount that they've offered in living memory.

They're effectively treating existing season ticket holders as mugs who they can rely on to fork out no matter what. Well I'm not being mugged off like that ta.

The actual cost thing isn't the issue, it's the fact that they're offering something to people who chose for whatever reason last summer not to fork out and making rules that deny the same deal to those that did. Penalising the type of supporters who they have relied on year in and year out and who they are now effectively taking for granted.

So instead of buying a season ticket this month I'll just stick an extra £414 into one of my savings accounts and I'll go to the match if I feel like it.

I think the incentive is there for the season ticket holder. Basically pools are saying, there you are son, you have been a good customer of ours, get yourself a mate and you only pay £250 at most this season.

Well done pools, come up with the goods at last clappp

That is not strictly true though Mr Ripper. They are not offering non season ticket holders anything. They are offering season ticket holders the opportunity to buy a further season ticket for a friend. If you don't want to take part in that offer and make a substantial saving for you and your chosen one then that is your choice. Nobody, who is not a season ticket holder, or without the agreement of a season ticket holder, can trigger off this transaction. So effectively it is a further gesture to season ticket holders, if they so want it, as well as swelling the ranks of season ticket holders in general.
I know I am wasting my time trying to get this point across to you, as you have obviously dug your heels in. You can make substantial savings if you want to take part in the scheme, but your mind is made up. Just make sure that you are not cutting your nose off to spite your face. Unless of course you are looking for a way out of buying a season ticket and this is a Godsend.
