Ash and Howling bells are the only decent bands on there. Ash have had their time and Howling bells have never realised their potential. I shall give this one a miss

No but I had a look at the line up and had a listen to a lot of the bands on their various myspace sites to see if it was worth me going. A lot of them are identikit strokes rip off bands and didn't interest me. The 2 bands that did interest me aren't a big enough draw for me to get 2 buses and get very wet.

Not attacking the bands who are playing, just many of them don't interest me.

My highlight of the day was bumping into Chip. I got through at about 4 and realised I wasn't that arsed about seeing anyone. I caught a bit of the Delays (not bad), most of Sons and Daughters (pretty good), some of the Future of the Left (ex-Mclusky/Jarcrew, excellent) and one song by Ash (to say I'd seen them). King Creosote pulled out at the last minute unfortunately. I've seen much better in the previous years. Stockton Riverside's line up this year is far superior.

aye, it slashes all over it dunnit KK?!

I saw lots of gaps between bands, d'oh, and spent most of my time at the local stage where IMO the bands are as good if not better than the touring bands - pisses me off that they could mix em up a whole lot better - why not celebrate our local talent eh?

anyhoo, seen the chapman family who were ace dirty weekend who weren't
high planes drifters and das wanderlust in the purple onion who were both fantastic!
and a bit of snowys band in a furios deathbed who were just too metal for me....

saw literally the last 2 notes of my dads band on that van stage thing, impecably timed!!

went on a terrifying ride with jack
got pissed as

it was certainly an epic journey mr bus. much easier than the number 36 bus home. people were literally fighting to get on it.arrests were made. crazy seeing 250 folk trying to get on the last bus.

dont understand why there wasnt extra buses on. a double decker would have been a start.

have to agree with yloop and saltys pre match assessment, line up turned out to be pretty poor. dont understand the hype around black kids, and bit of a let down king creosote not showing.

yes i heard today that there had been a little problem at the bus station
mind it wasnt helped by colleagues of mine telling people the last no1 was at 9.43 rather than 6.43 but yes for a event like this extra buses should be laid on something for the organisers to look at as i am sure by letting stagecoach know something could be done

I ended up going out to pick up Jonny about 11:30, after he'd been conned by a taxi driver. He got in a cab in the 'city' centre, which already had someone else in, he got out near the UGC cinema. By this time Jonny was panicking about how much it was going to cost him to get back to Billingham, so he got out there as well, but not before having to hand over a tenner! He had been 'roadying' all day in 'Trader Jacks' (whatever that is), and drinking Jack Daniels, so some of the details are a bit vague.
