HELP! I've had a nightmare this weekend with my car.
Please help if possible or direct me somewhere who can help me cheaply!.......
I have a 2001 Hyundai Coupe SE and the factory fitted electric ariel wasn't working when I purchased the car a few months ago so I have just bought a new electric ariel and motor. When fitting this new ariel two wires which are to attach to the ariel managed to touch when the power was on and the radio went off. Prior to the wires touching the ariel would not go up when the radio was turned on (I know the ariel works as I tested it by connecting it directly to the battery). So now I have an ariel which doesn't go up or down and a radio that doesn't turn on. I know the radio still works as again, I tested it by connecting it straight to the battery. The only thing I can think of is that there is an in-line fuse somewhere between the battery and the head unit but I cannot locte it.
I have checked all the fuses that I can find in the fuse box's. Are there any hidden ones I need to know about?

Remove the radio and check to see if it has its own fuse fitted to it...........and from memory im pretty sure your model has a fuse box located under the bonnet.....check in there

yeah my radio does have a fuse in it and it seems fine. it worked when i connected it directly to the battery.
Also i've tried all the fuses under the bonnet too and none of them are broke.

The fuses are in the footwell yeah and no I havn't checked my manual yet. That seems like the sensible thing to do!
The fuse box in the footwell has a diagram on the cover of which fuses are for what but none of them seem to relate to the radio.

Cars often have an in line fuse in the +ve power supply to the radio.

Try and see if there is plastic fuse holder in the supply leads going in to the radio, it is usually within 2 foot or so back of the connection.

There you go then, the break has to be on the car side. Theres a fuse gone somewhere on the car.
