Chris Turner didn't rate him. Mind you its no suprise, his judgement of players is very suspect, see the mail website for confirmation.

He was only on loan with us from Newcastle. He was a decent player, but looked a little light-weight if I remember. I thinks he's just developed into a good player.

True but we could have signed him, at the time Doncaster were a club on the way down and Coppinger took a fair sized step backwards going from Pools to Donny.

He didn't go from Pools to Donny. He went from Newcastle to Exeter and stayed there for two years before arriving at Donny.

Just to clarify his time at Pools were actually loan periods and we never let him go, we couldn't get the little fecker

No need for the attitude John, I was only stating the facts and as Katcha rightly says, we never actually let Coppinger go, he just wasn't ours to keep.
