Sunderland have released the following four:

Would any of them do a job for us?

Ian Harte I believe would do a good job at left back

Ian Harte would be Robbie Elliott mark 2 in my opinion.

Sunderland also released a mate of mine yesterday, Peter Hartley.

Hartly may well be worth a look at, I used to play football with him on Barnard Grove when he was a nipper.

Did they release Dowson too? He scored a few for Chesterfield whilst on loan

I'm not sure about Dowson. I know Chesterfield want Hartley though.

steven Wright is a right back could be worth a look.

Wright looked a good player once - has had injury problems in recent years though I think.

Peter Hartley was a good player when he was a kid, i used to run one of the under 11 teams for crest and he played for the other under 11 team, we won the league that year and they beat us in the cup final, he was a cracking player then though. dont think he's had a chance of breaking into the first team at blunderland though.

Why do we need a past in left back when Humphreys is amazing and best player of all time? etc etc

Roy Keane seemingly had a change of heart because he called in Hartley yesterday morning and offered him another contract. Fair play to the lad.

You can't say that, its like saying going into a Catholic church and saying Jesus was a poof.

Mind you he might well have been. 13 blokes all living together preaching free love. Those little Kenny Everett beards that they all had make me wonder if they were batting for the other side. Also, look at any picture of JC and his mates, they've all got frocks on! Surely even the most devout would admit that wearing a dress is a touch suspect.

I wonder if Lawrence is God?
