...shouldn't we bear in mind these announcements where such and such a group is voted the greatest rock band ever till you check the source and find it was in a poll in a magazine devoted to the group in question.
Therefore any vote cannot be viewed as balanced as all those voting cannot have seen all the players peform. So maybe it would have been better to restrict it to the last 10 years, the length of IORs' tenure, as player of the century was always going to lead to disagreements. We can't even agree on players this season, so the entire century stood no chance whatsoever.

EEEEEE Chip, you've mentioned some gooduns there.
Ray Thompson and Joe Willetts were both left backs. Ray with the sliding tackle and Joe with the bandy legs.
Ray used to take a post at corners and as soon as the ball was kicked he would rush the centre forward...........used to frighten the life out of them. Hard as nails was our Ray.We've had some decent left backs in the last fifty odd years but RT was as good as any of them.
You mentioned Leo Harden......'The flying dustman' he was called. Played on the left wing and scored some great goals. He had a ferocious shot with his lefty but couldn't even kick a ball with his right. A real entertainer and crowd pleaser. Howay Leo used to ring round the ground.
Leo was a particular hero of mine, although George Luke was a better left winger. On his way home from work, as a dustman, Leo used to pass our 'common'. We would always have the ball out and he would spend fifteen or so minutes with us just floating centres in. Smashing feller and a real character. There was nothing prima donna about Leo, or any of them for that matter.

Aido, I have never and never will, refer to you or anyone else on this board as a c***..... and that is not irony. I may be awkward, argue black is white, be sarcastic and drive some people mad, but I never resort to personal abuse. So let's try a bit of humour instead eh?

How anyone could refer to Snowy as sensible is beyond me
This idea of a hall of fame is such an obvious good one its ridiculous how it hasnt happened already.
Can I put Paul Baker in please? Walked round the pitch like he owned it, looked at defenders like they didnt deserve to be on the same pitch as him.
Kevin Dixon was my favourite player as a kid but not sure he'd be in it.

Might I just defend Mr Sussex for a second...

Mr S has acted perfectly reasonably and posted sensibly except when faced with abuse. The same can be said of the likes of Mr Quakerz, MSN and most other Loids. I defy anyone to find a thread where Sussex started a fight, hes responded sure but others have thrown the first stone. There are lots of posted who were complete arseholes on Rivals but in her have shown themselves to be intelligent when enganged in sensible conversation.

Generally people's behaviour in here (and anywhere else come to that) mirror their initial treatment hence which is why when opposition fans post here it tends to be reasonable as long as they are treated reasonable - take the Walsall fans as an example, we have a good rapport with them for precisely this reason.
