My mate waited outside the Mail Office for the green 'un, along with a healthy gathering of other poolies with high expectations. As soon as the mail came out he dashed to my house with it and brandished it in front of my faced yelling "Promotion!!!! (just enough time to get pissed)". I think evening kick-offs were a bit earlier those days.
