about 99% of our away games this season, even when Joel notched you had a feeling that we'd lose even when at that stage we should have had momentum to go on to win out of the two sides.

Very, very poor away from home this season our record is embarrassing. anyone who has gone to the majority of these long trips deserves a medal the size of a bin lid.

I have been to eighteen away league games so far this season and five cup games and, in the vast majority of the league games, we were awful. I shall be thinking long and hard before I repeat that effort next season. The same applies to my season ticket renewal.
I have been to a few reserve games as well and, I've got to admit, the reserve games were better entertainment than the first team games. We just can't defend and our management team seem at a loss as to how to put it right.

Are you suggesting we should accept our away record after November 3rd when we won at Millwall?

This record;

P15 W1 D3 L11 Points 6 from 45.

Yeah we are expecting too much aren't we stpid stpid

It's absolutely spineless, embarrassing, pathetic and not at all Hartlepool United.

Put the points against pounds away fans have spent traveling and it's shameful.

I remember another recent season when we went for months without getting an away win. I seem to remember the season finally ending somewhere like South Wales.
Yes it's a lousy record but you have to put up with having the odd lousy record. No club in the world is exempt from that.

By all accounts today we tried hard but made two appalling mistakes and got our just desserts. So is it a question of lousy away form or is it more a question of an unreliable defence?

And though it's tempting to dump the whole blame on the defence (OK OK I know, ably aided and abetted by Wilson blah blah), I have reason to believe our attack was no great shakes either considering the service they got.

Both of their goals came from crosses... errrrrrr Danny..... whay oh why have we played most of this season without any proper full backs?
I won't go into a full rant about yesterday but most of the day was 5hite, from the pathetic set up at Brighton (can't believe they're allowed league football there) to the performance and effort shown by most of our players. I'm sick of losing my voice after bollocking them for not trying hard enough.
Loads of people clapped them off at the end as well..... yeah well done lads.... our away form is great eh......

I clapped them off as I thought they played well.

As always Willie Boland didn't respond to the fans by clapping back and only Robbie Elliott is a bigger tit at the club

Surely you are mistaken, after all Saint Ritchie was in the paper telling us how 'up for it' they all were.

john you are becoming a bore
the only one you ever slate by name is saint richie
so he is a one man defence and if you listened to mr nash and loughlin then you will have heard that both nelse and sweeny were culpable over the first goal but you can always blame him for the rest

Wasn't the 1st from a ball down the middle over the top that Clark did brilliant to get a block tackle on, the ball broke to their right and the cross in was unchallenged by ALB and no-one picked the forward up 2 yards from the back post.

Wasn't the 2nd from a corner, it's not that easy to close the corner taker down to stop him getting a cross in stpid

They got clapped off because I thought they put the effort in and played well especially the 2nd half and where unlucky to lose.

I suggest you watch the goals again and re-think that post mate. I would definitely not use the stpid smilie unless you know what you are talking about.

Which one did I get wrong Mr Portsmouth, I was a long way away as you well know, especially for the 2nd goal and I thought that came from a corner, but I was distracted by a steward being a dick head at the time of the goal.

Neither goals came as a result of a error from Humphreys.

Are you suggesting that every goal that comes form a cross from either side of the field is the full backs fault!?

The first cross came from the edge of the penalty area to the centre forward who didn't even have to jump he was so unmarked.

We'll blame Humphreys though shall we

The 2nd came from a pass after a throw to the guy that crossed it, it was Liddle attempting to close him down like.
As for the 1st, I was in the toilets at the time so have only seen it on tv, from what they showed it wasn't really a long ball over the top as there was about 5 or 6 of our players between the ball and the goal. Their lad was given all the time he wanted to cross the ball to the lad who scored, who was given all the time he wanted to head it in from right in front of our goal.
Agreed, the stewards were being dicks like, why don't they show any common sense......
And i did have the benefit of sky+ to analyse the goals like!
I just wish the players would try to give the impression that it meant a bit more to them......

In response to PJ, no of course every cross is not purely the full backs fault, what I think though is that if we had 2 proper full backs less crosses would come in over the course of a season, which would therefore lead to less chances for the opposition to have free headers. Or is that too simplistic??

Isn't a decent keeper a big factor in dealing with crosses? I didn't see many forwards score goals against us like we conceded yesterday when the Greek was in nets. If you are confident in your keeper you will subconsciously defend a higher line making goals like the first yesterday less likely. Our back four were so deep they were almost stood on the six yard line. I'd say a full back is at fault when a winger is constantly getting to the by-line, crosses from the areas we conceded yesterday should be dealt with.

A good keeper is an absolute priority, watch the full backs and the whole defence improve when we get one.

Thats a good point. How come the likes of Nelson's form has dropped after the departure of that greek goalie.......okay I know it was Dimi but they operated as a unit.

i clapped them off at the end too - the second half was a much improved performance and if anyone was going to win it i thought pools would.

throughout the game they played some decent stuff, some neat passing and creating chances. brighton didn't really look that threatening and what i thought we lacked in the first half was a bit of passion. i was disappointed with monky today who didn't really look interested and apart from 2 or 3 decent crosses in the second half didn't do a lot and for their disallowed goal, he i think was the one who swung his boot lazily at it and sliced it to their guy on the edge of the box. that ball needed booting clear.

in the second half they picked it up, looked more interesting and deservedly equalised. brighton looked a bit shaken and we continued to press and create chances. even matty and foley when they came on did well. so i was disappointed to lose and thought we deserved something out of the game.

chant of the day?: "you're just a town full of faggots", "we can see you holding hands", and high pitched "woo-ooo" noises while waving?....

How about:

"Have you brought your vaseline?"...... "Does your boyfriend know you're here?"

They must get it every week but great fun.

oh aye - forgot about those two!!

"we can see you sucking c*ck" was another corker...

reckon we can get on the BBC website's "chant of the week"?!?!?

their ground was a disgrace really. the stand is nowhere near the pitch, uncovered, overpriced, burger and chips were disgusting, stewards were joke, handing out paper towels to dry seats to try and get you to sit down. all that said i kind of enjoyed it!!

It should be noted that 'we can see you sucking cock' was in response to them singing 'we can see you sneaking out' when they scored the winner.

I have never been to a ground like it and I won't be returning next season if we're in the same stand. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with it but they're Brighton and the FA love them.
