I have an idea for a drama/sitcom thing called 'Cowboys and Indians'.

It features 2 families who live next door to each other - one a household of rogue builders, and the adjoining dwelling containing three generations of Hindus.

There would be a constant theme of suspicion and mistrust on both sides, sometimes breaking out into petty violence. However, a moral twist would ultimately unite the familes as they band together against a common enemy (perhaps they think they are both slashing each others windscreen wipers, only to realise it's a crow after all?).

I also think a bit of clandestine love interest would work as well eg teenage Indian daughter is secretly seeing teenage builders son.

Does anyone know any programme commissioners with whom you can put a good word in for me?

On a more surreal tack is 'Hyde and Sikh'. This detective series features the Burnley player Micah Hyde, who solves a series of football-related murders, aided by a mysterious silent old man in a turban. Any more for any more?

ideas are the thoughts that keep the world turning - these, in my humble opinion, ain't up to much, but keep the ideas going - imagination is a good thing.

Love thy neighbour crossed with My Beautiful Launderette.

You could use boot-polished white actors in the main Hindu roles to make it more like It Ain't Half Hot Mum.
Don't forget the compulsory Hindi conversation between members of the elder generations in which the words Marylin Monroe and Waterloo keep cropping up.
