I caught it the other week as I came in and the wife was watching it .... I honestly believed it was a fly on the wall documentary till Vegas popped up.
We drove though the place once..... at speed, does it translate into ....'The Black Pool' from the original Spanish? :roll:

The real one is a crying shame. The Benidorm area is an oasis of near perfect weather because of its microclimate. What has been done to the place over the years is a tragedy.

It is in a fanstastic part of the world with a great countryside out of the back and during the day the place itself is a smart area with a load of money spent on it to make it more classy

however, the cheapness of flights, hols, booze and people means it still cannot removed itself from its tag

never been if i want fish and chips by the sea will go to whitby
if i want to go to a tacky seaside resort will go to blackpool
dont see the point of flying all the way to spain for them.

now a nice spanish resort is benalmadena and the access to lots of nice areas of spain and sunshine

The Spanish cities are good. Malaga for instance is a traditional Spanish town with squares and fountains, nice buildings and great service and hospitality in the bars and restaurants.

We were there the day the Station in Madrid was bombed and took part in the very dignified few minutes silence on the Saturday after. The traffic stopped and everyone stood in silence to show their respects. Generally a civilised lot the Spanish.

Sorry to get off the telly prog like. Another hijacked thread.
