on an out side mathematical chance of reaching the play offs
is this not the first time in ten years that we have had nothing to fight for at the end of a season in the last ten
even the fight against the drop when SC**** was here was at least a scramble to the end

i think you could sense it on monday, despite there being 8 games left i thought the crowd was pretty flat, like when they read the teams out no one really seemed to care or cheer the pools players names as much as normal and a fair few people left before the end...

Sad but true Mr Dibble. sadx

If DW hadn't perservered with Budtz and Antwi for so long and had let Porter and Monkhouse loose a bit more then we would be right in the mix for the play offs at the very least right now.

In Switzerland, a man of small mental capacity, took some bits of wood and leather and eventually constructed a toy that with a little bit of pressure made the cry of a cuckoo. With inferior materials and much less ingenuity, Dannys' diciples have made a fan that will cry ..." I'll give him another season to let him get it right"....

A few simple questions.

Do you cheer up when a goal goes in for Pools??

Do you curse your luck when a goal goes in for the oppo??

Which have you done more of this season?

Now, how many records did we set last season??

Who is the leading home scorer in the division THIS season??

Have we disgraced ourselves??

How many teams fans would pay to be in our position??

How much time have you lot spent moaning about strikers when you are afraid to criticise the sacred cows that are Nelson, Clarke, 'cos amazingly yes, we lost with the sainted partnership on the field too. (Cries of, 'Wilson never gave them time to gel'............bollocks of the highest order..)

Suggestions of how we combat teams like, Swansea, Forest, Leeds, Doncaster, when you look at our resources and their resources would be welcomed by the realists. Don't apply if you think Joel and Monky would have automatically made the difference against those clubs.

The fact that the promoted teams are in exactly the same order as they came up might be a clue as to the differentials between Accrington and Forest.

Now from a distance I've watched and listened to 239 days of constant bleating about the same old shite.

We've never been threatened with relegation.

Joel isn't Pele.

Barker isn't Heskey.

Brown isn't Best.

Monkhouse isn't Waddle.

Wilson isn't Robson.

The first one who says I dunno 'cos I don't go will only convince me when they fellate themselves live on BBC 1 at 7pm with a repeat before Eastenders omnibus on Sunday.

Night night rolfl

I think the point Gremmlin was trying to make was that this has been the dullest season for 10 years.

I think he meant the Scotty season was exciting but for all the wrong reasons.

No one will ever convince me that this season hasnt been one massive wasted opportunity.

We SHOULD be up there. Its fookin criminal that we arent.

Just seven more points would have had us in the play offs.

You lot will never convince me that with:

1. A Decent keeper
2. More games for Ben Clark
3. Leaving McCunnie at Right back.
4. Starting all season with Porter
5. Starting all season with Monkhouse

We wouldnt have gained at least those 7 points by now.

Wilson is a bounder.

I concur, he is a bounder

Kevin - The problem with the defence is largely down to Wilson signing clowns as keepers and tinkering about with the back four too much... Antwi has been rubbish and there was no reason to piss about with McCunnie in the way that he did....... Elliott was also a shite signing....

As for suggesting ways in which we can combat the teams that you mentioned - we could start by playing the best XI. This would give us a chance. This would ensure a more attractive style of football and more favourable results thus giving us bigger attendances and more resources ourselves in forthcoming seasons..... The fact that we aren't challenging is very costly as attendances are down and floaters lose interest.....
