Wilson will try and rig the vote so that Barker or Foley get it!

Personally I'd go for either Monky or Joel. Hopefully they will both be in contention for the award this time next season too.

It has to be Brownie surely, the only player who has played well conistently all season.

Monky has only started 14 games, Brownie has been excellent in more than 14 games so I think Brownie deserves it over him.

The POTY thing is a curse anyway, you only have to look at what has happened the season after people like James Sharp, Provett, Liddle and Nelson have all won it. Give it to Antwi.

Brownie can be very hit and miss and quite infuriating at times- he's still learning and will be one hell of a player when he is the finished article. For me he isn't as good yet as Porter and Monkhouse are and I reckon that regardless of stats over number of games started they have contributed as much or more to my enjoyment (albeit limited enjoyment at times cos they've not played as much as I'd have liked) of watching Pools this season.

Winner - Joel Porter
Runner Up - James Brown or Jamie McCunnie - For me he has played very well in his first season

Already the best 'Hartlepool youth' for years and isn't he improving at a rate of knots? Was just thinking on Sat how often defenders used to push him off the ball. Now they don't any more

brown has been awesome again this season and got plenty of goals from right midfield, i'd love to see him play up front for a full season (esp with joel!!)

hard to justify giving it to others (joel, monky etc) who haven't played enough games - which really boils your p*ss

we're going to finish about 11/12/13th aren't we, and DW's going to stay, and some of our better players are going to leave, and we're all going to be miserable and go through this again next season aren't we.....

if Wilson stays and players like Monkhouse, Brown and Porter leave the club, then we won't go through all this next season.
We'll be relegated out of sight instead.

It's because football makes you neurotic. I don't know why, but it does.
I'm looking forward to the cricket season...I like Durham to win but I don't REALLY care if they don't, which makes for nice relaxing afternoons at Chester-le-Street

Yes.

At least 66% of them are under contract. When you're contracted to Uncle Kens organisation and he doesn't want you to go you don't go unless, like Jack Ross, you send at least half your skin and your first born through the post wrapped in your agents scrotum.

Did Kev behave like this before he went to China, or was he more manageable then?

Right. I spoke to Kev once, you know, when I was about 17. When I rang up his home to speak to ..erm.. his sibling, Kev answered the phone and addressed me in a VERY CROSS VOICE for some reason. sadx

He sounded like a little brat......

Answered the phone in a very cross voice?

You must be mistaking him for somebody else.

Phones hadn't been invented when PK was young.

That'll be it then. It's bound to make a person feel a bit inadequate if you ring him up when he hasn't got a phone

Jan Budtz has actually received several nominations.

Albeit from fans of Carlisle, Northampton, Cheltenham, and Port Vale but hey beggars can't be choosers.

I reckon if Hangus can make mayor, then he's definitely got a shot at player of this year this year.

Too many of the contenders (in our view) have not had the game time to really stand out.

Monkhouse or Porter for me, with McCunnie as an outsider. They perfomed well most of the time in a mediocre season.

last year i seem to recall there being an award voted for by the players that nelson and liddle both won and then another one voted for by the fans and then another one ( the away player of the year ? ) voted for by the supporters association. then theres the one voted for by the mail readers etc etc.

i just remember nearly everyone getting an award and then having their photo taken with muttley.

it will probably go to humps. thats what normally happens when we have a crap/average season. personally i cant see how they could possibly give it to a defender after the season we have had.

ideally it will go to one of the entertainers, brown or porter.

good shout chip i will vote for richie clappp clappp clappp
