Me and our lass went to Millmoor last night to watch the reserves. It was an end to end affair with both teams intent on attacking. Budtz played well in goal and made a couple of stunning saves. Young and Haigh were impressive at full back with the central pairing of Gott and Tait looking very solid , although they were done for pace a couple of times. Rowell and Turnbull controlled the midfield. Ellison had a good game in there as well. Up front Tymon and Foley gave the Rotherham defence a pasting. Matty Robson was his usual self on the left wing...good one minute and frustrating the next.
It was a really good game to watch and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The Pukka meat and tatie pie was excellent .
Messrs Wilson and Turner were in attendance.

What was the score?

3-1 to Pools. Tymon with a tap in after Ellison hit the bar , Robson with a speculative effort that bobbled in front of the diving keeper and finished up in the corner of the net and the third was scored by Rowell at the far post after good work and a superb cross by Tymon from the left. Their goal was a penalty.

Bollocks I could have gone to that!

Note to self: must pay more attention to reserves fixtures.
