Apart from the disgraceful lack of punctuation and the nonsensical last line, I agree. Rae should be given his chance here.

Translation

I noted that young Hartlepool prospect Michael Rae scored two goals yesterday in his latest game for Southport where he is on loan. Southport's Manager, Peter Davenport, is decidedly ecstatic with Rae's performances particularly as he has helped them achieve a play-off position. After hearing Mr Davenport's comments I was left wondering why young Michael has not been given a first team opportunity at Pools.

[No idea about that last line]

I can see you are puzzled o great one.

I think we can infer that "stevie wonder = blind" and "quality speaks for itself".

The age of metaphor is not dead.

If we're getting so picky I reckon a contribution from Pedants' Corner is appropriate and would suggest that, "is decidedly ecstatic", is a split infinitive equal to, "to boldly go", in anyones' language.

Just thought I'd mention it, like.

Ah yes, "to boldly go", decidedly one of the best split infinitives of all time, right up there with Douglas Adams's "And all dared to brave unknown terrors, to do mighty deeds, to boldly split infinitives that no man had split before - and thus was the Empire forged."

In the words of Bill Bryson ("Mother Tongue", 1990),

I can think of two very good reasons for not splitting an infinitive.

1. Because you feel that the rules of English ought to conform to the grammatical precepts of a language that died a thousand years ago.
2. Because you wish to cling to a pointless affectation of usage that is without the support of any recognized authority of the last 200 years, even at the cost of composing sentences that are ambiguous, inelegant, and patently contorted.

It is exceedingly difficult to find any authority who condemns the split infinitive - Theodore Bernstein, H. W. Fowler, Ernest Gowers, Eric Partridge, Rudolph Flesch, Wilson Follett, Roy H. Copperud, and others too tedious to enumerate here all agree that there is no logical reason not to split an infinitive.

As for "decidedly ecstatic", IMO it's not quite in the same league as "completely pregnant".
