You probably wont be able to copy to a DVD Drive, Because they are "Read Only" drives as are CD ROM's

The best way to copy the files over to it would be via Nero or something of that sort

Then drag them from the Desktop to the DVD Drive... May work

But I'm not 100% convinced thats what your after?

i had a program before called Roxio where you could just drag and drop a file onto a disc, it would then copy the file onto disc. I thought it was a standard thing just to move a file and place it over the dvd drive and it would drop in and copy to say a blank dvd.

I used to have Roxio, I loved it for that very reason.

You can easily get Roxio from ebay.
