It's now't new is it? the world is full of them. Unfortunately there are countless tales of people claiming various military service, these people are termed 'Walts' the name beign a derivative of Walter Mitty. There's a thread on ARRSE that is now up to 350 pages on this very subject.

There's a couple of old sayings that seems appropriate;

"I wasn't on of the 60 SAS soldiers who stormed the Iranian Embassy but I have met 3500 of them"
"if everyone who claimed to have been in the Falklands War actually was, the Islands would have sank"

It's actually quite a big problem, personally I think we should have a law like the US where impersonating a veteran is an indictable offence. This guy is an amateur compared to some, look at this characters! if you're going to walt it up then do it with style like this guy!
