My favourite was from about this time of year, at the Harvest Festival.

Autumn days when the grass is jewelled
And the silk inside a chestnut shell

And so on...

Aye we did! Taking me back there like Elv!

'Give me oil in my lamp' was another good one, everyone always used to put an extra "of kings" onto the last verse though...

You can't half think of some good nostalgia topics!

He's Got The Whole World In His Hands!

Oh, and that one that went "From the tiny ant (repeat) to the elephant (repeat)..."

Do you remember the one that had the line:

The apples are ripe, the plums are red
Broadbeans are sleeping in their blankety bed

Nobody else seems to remember it but me!

Yes, Harvest Festival easy had the best tunes! I wouldn't mind buying Songs of Praise simply for that walk down memory lane...

WHEN I NEEDED A NEIGHBOUR,
Were you there, were you there?
When I needed a neighbour, were you there?

And the creed and the colour
And the name won't matter,
Were you there?

I was hungry and thirsty,
Were you there, were you there?
I was hungry and thirsty, were you there?

I was cold, I was naked,
Were you there, were you there?
I was cold, I was naked, were you there?

When I needed a shelter,
Were you there, were you there?
When I needed a shelter, were you there?

When I needed a healer,
Were you there, were you there?
When I needed a healer, were you there?

Wherever you travel,
I'll be there, I'll be there.
Wherever you travel, I'll be there.

And the creed and the colour
And the name won't matter,
I'll be there.

A Lister Street classic!! clap clap clap
